KZ - vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica;
David - vocals, bass, rhythm & lead guitars; mandolin
Influences
Where to start?
Emmylou Harris; John McVie; Ray Wylie Hubbard; Bob Dylan; Hank Williams; The Beatles; J S Bach, Canned Heat; ZZ Top; Wes Montgomery; Neil Young, David Crosby, Stephen Stills; Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66; Johnny Cash; Django Reinhardt; but that's all I can think of this second, there's a LOT more!!
So KZ was visiting a local garden where David teaches and he answered her numerous questions about monkey flowers. She soon learned as well (he aint shy, you know) that he played guitar and sang the blues when he wasn’t teaching or digging in the dirt. She asked him to teach her a few chords so she could join the jam and suddenly she started coming up with a bunch of very clever lyrics and tunes. David helped out by providing a chord structure for the tunes and presently the duo had over 6 songs with people saying, 'hey, would you play that one about the detective psychologist?' or 'play that relationship song...' and suddenly they had a couple of gigs.
Scary.
One of the first collaborations was a set of poems: David wrote Lost and KZ wrote Found. Hence, the name - which we have learned since has a more universal, some would say an almost metaphysical, resonance with the band.
A set from the Lost and Found includes a solid helping of originals mixed with some Fred Eaglesmith (Lucille, White Trash), Ray Wylie Hubbard (The Messenger, Without Love, After The Harvest), Bob Dylan (Your Gonna Make Me Lonesome...), Emmylou Harris (Boulder to Birmingham) and others; but not done to copy, Lost and Found works to create the song anew in our own way. A lot of songs you probably haven't heard, but once you do, you'll probably think of them as old friends.
KZ - Ms. Rhythm Guitar Girl, writes most of our material - handles a lot of the lead vocals and does marvelous on harmony too. And a little harmonica (oh, about this big...) now and again.
David - on rhythm guitar once in a while, but these days mostly on bass and occasional lead vocals. Doubles as our dog wrangler as required... Not sure if he wants to claim to be the band's webbie or we leave that to wild speculation. Look out: he's finally started writing songs again (only about a 20 year hiatus!) and finally we've added two of his songs to our play list.
Casey - little wobbly black dog is responsible for crowd control and band security... think I'm jokin, don't cha? :-)

Re: the hacker A little discussion ensued with some myspacers, following the apparent spam of ringtone and porn offers - which were not spam at all, but trojan horse attempts to get people's passwords and / or credit card numbers.
The final consensus on what to do about 'em? We had general agreement on the molasses / anthill thing. I'll buy the molasses, and I'm sure you know where there's an anthill...
