LOST NOT FOUND is an upcoming indy roadtrip horror film.
A group of young American tourists travel up a long and isolated stretch of road along Queensland's Central Coast, headed for the tourist capitals of the Far North. In this barren, no man's land they encounter a community of men who ravage, brutilise, and murder outsiders on a regular and systematic basis. The effects of isolation, sensory depravation and unrelenting heat, have made them nature's monsters. They indulge in, and get away with, their darkest, most sadistic urges. The tourists are thrust into an brutal survival crisis, with no visible means of escape. Each is forced to examine their flaws and strengths as they face their horrific, and inevitable, fate in The Dead Heart of the Australian Outback.
LOST NOT FOUND is a clash between civilised behaviour and unrestrained, primal gratification. It examines the effects of extreme isolation on the human pysche, and the absolute power of nature to destroy the artificial veneer of control that keeps destructive, sexual, sadistic, and murderous urges in check. In a land without boundaries, nature is law, and man's darkest urges are pursued to their conclusion.
Paying homage to the often overlooked 1970/80's Australian horror films, LOST NOT FOUND draws much inspiration from lost classics like 'Wake In Fright' (aka 'Outback'), 'The Last Wave', 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' and visually from 'Razorback' with its stunning Outback cinematography.
LOST NOT FOUND was conceived in late 2004 and written by two Melbourne Scream Queens, Efisia Fele and Phoebe Meyer in late 2005. An investment trailer was shot in Outback Australia in March 2006; directed by Efisia Fele.
