   About Los Torsos
Timb & Scott were roommates and fast friends during art school in Sarasota, FL where they studied fine art and computer animation. They met in the fall of 1994 and Timb began learning guitar. Scott, generally the more introspective and eclectic of the group, would come onboard with music only two years later.

Los Torsos was founded in Costa Mesa, CA in the fall of 1999 as Scott & Timb both landed jobs working for a company in Southern Cal and ended up roommates once again. Taking influence from all matter of experimental and space rock music, they created their first record "Uno" the same year, mostly improvisational and lo-fi music. Scott picked up a banjo which led to Los Torsos signature sound. Songs evolved during their simultaneous creation and recording. "Uno" became a thing of legend as the tapes would not resurface until three years later.

In 2001, after a two-year hiatus, Los Torsos reconveined in Sarasota at their former college house for their next album "Heaving Hills" which actually saw proper release before "Uno". Heaving Hills saw more of the improvisational juice exhibited on Uno but with more complete ideas and fully-formed songs.

In 2002, Timb received the missing tapes from Scott and remastered them into a proper release for Uno late that year from his Tucson, AZ studio. Uno turned out to be quite a gem of space rock, some listeners commenting that it had a sort of "intoxicant-enhancing" quality. The liner notes deemed it "unsafe" for car listening and suggested a recommended listening strategy for "best results".

In early 2004, the group reassembled for another musical endeavour, this time in Palm Beach County, FL where they began recording songs for their first hi-fi release "Jack Bottle Blues". These songs bring a new element of structure and production to their incredible space rock sound.

In October 2005, Los Torsos went back into the studio to record some new tunes. This collection will most likely be merged with tracks from "Jack Bottle" to create an LP from two finished EPs. The album is tenatively titled "Jack Bottle Blues / Fort Serenity" or "Lost or SOS".

Timb is currently mixing the final tracks on the long-awaited compilation from the last three Los Torsos studio sessions. Los Torsos also plans to record new songs by this summer.
