..Manchester based label, Lotta Continua, specialises in experimental and electronic music. The label was founded in 2003, by Gareth Bibby and David Clarkson, after it was realised that a collaboration would establish a higher profile for the artists involved. Disco Operating System, Illuminati and Triclops are the artists currently recording and releasing work on the Lotta Continua label. This currently remains the focus for the label. .. ....
.... ..Gareth Bibby and David Clarkson also co-run the BURST COUCH experimental club evenings in Manchester, UK. These irregular events have been in operation for over 7 years and have so far featured many artists including Keith Rowe, Colin Potter, Phil Mouldycliff, Karl Blake, Tactile, Andrew Liles, Pram, Tele:Funken, Mr Thompson, Illuminati, Disco Operating System, Triclops. Bess Keloid, Mild Man Jan, nCr, Opaque, B Fab UK, Daniel Weaver, Si-Cut.db, Philippe Petit, BOSAH, King Dice, Floach, Villa 21, Thought Universe, Lee Patterson, Q Car, Stephen McLaughlin, Beat Science, Psychiatric Challenge, Sisters of Transistors, Quip, Jonathon Fisher, plus many others. .. Disco Operating System: Manchester based musician Gareth Bibby has been in control of the Disco Operating System since 1996, and has gone on to release many CDs, CDRs and a 7" on both RSI and Lotta Continua. The DOS sound has evolved and mutated quite significantly over this time, but it has always meandered around the peripheries of esoteric experimentation. Live DOS appearances have stepped up a gear over the last few years, having shared the stage with many acts including To Rococo Rot, Posset, Philip Jeck, Si-Cut.db and Colin Potter to name but a few... ....
..Illuminati: Manchester based musician Dave Clarkson records and plays live under the name Illuminati. His music involves physical, emotive and evocative leanings set in an electronic musical context. Illuminati has, so far, released 4 albums and various EP's as well as collaborative pieces and compilation appearances for other record labels. The music of Illuminati has been used on various short films and in various film festivals worldwide. Illuminati has shared the bill with many acts including Tele:Funken, Si-Cut.db, Colin Potter, Keith Rowe and King Dice... ....
..Triclops: Manchester based experimental and improvisational trio, Triclops, comprise of Gareth Bibby, David Clarkson and Tim Jones. Triclops music is generated live from a collection of samples, sounds and manipulations selected from any historical reference point in time. Performances can be abrasive, ambient or purely strange, but more often than not, all three at once. Despite never quite knowing what each member is likely to pull out of the hat next, the three members' musical rapport is such that a striking cohesive beauty is almost always achieved. Triclops have shared the bill with many acts including Melt Banana, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Sunroof!, Biting Tongues, Crispy Ambulance, Speedranch-Jansky Noise and 3D Tanx.
