General
My interests are: religion, purpose of the universe, welfare of people, and especially the welfare of animals. Will always root for the underdog. I love comedy, magic and music. I have been known by my wife and friends to pull some huge pranks and practical jokes over the years. Eva and I have worked with The L.I. League For Animal Protection, and once owned a mobile dog grooming business for over 25 years, which would explain the "Puppy Page". I have been a musician since the age of 8 and a jazz musician since since the age of 12, and enjoy all forms of music but got hooked on jazz early in life and majored in woodwind instruments, clarinet, alto, tenor, saxophone, and flute. I always had an interest in piano and later in life found piano to be quite fulfilling. Inspired by jazz pianists like Billy Taylor Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Bob James, Oscar Peterson, and Vince Guaraldi. In memory of Oscar Peterson Aug,15,1925-Dec,23,2007
I had made this special Tribute to Oscar back in 2006 on my web page, and how it saddens me to hear of Canadas Living Legend, the man considered the greatest pianist of all time is no longer with us. Oscar Peterson's piano playing was without a doubt the best, and second to none. With the speediest fingers any piano player could ever hope for, and a quick mind to instrut those fingers as to what key to play next on the piano was an amazing gift. As Mozart is considered a classical genius, Oscar would have to be considered a genius as a jazz pianist. Some of the artists who influenced Oscar during the early years were Teddy Williams, Nat King Cole, James P. Johnson and the legendary Art Tatum, who many have tried to compare Oscar to in later years. In fact, one of Oscar's first exposures to the musical talents of Art Tatum came early in his teen years when his father played an Art Tatum record to him and Oscar was so intimidated by what he heard that he didn't touch the piano for over a month...as I and countless musicians now get intimidated after hearing Oscar's playing. My deepest sympathy to the Peterson family and friends. Thank God for all the great music left behind by him and may his Heaven be everything he ever hoped for and so much, much more.
