LOU "LOVERWOLF" BONNIO ~
LOU BONNIO’s musical style is a fusion of the 80s and 2000s; a rhythmic mixture of techno/pop/rock with a background of cold wave synthesizers backed up with rock and new wave guitars and bass. A synergy that is a must-hear!
LOU was born in Lyon,France, on December 2. He spent 10 years as a judoka (judo practitioner) during which time he won several titles, including that of Vice Champion of France at the age of 16.
At 17, LOU worked for a couple of months in a tennis club and later bought himself his first guitar, an Eagle Destroyer. In 1983, he started performing as a guitarist with various bands such as EXIL, NIGHTWOLF and EXPORT, which was formed with his good friend WOLF MAIL. WOLF MAIL who is now a great blues guitar player along with Lou, went to France and it is there that they met TED NUGENT. LOU continued his stay in France where he continued to play with NIGHTWOLF and EXPORT.
In 1989, he formed the group YONA whom he continued to perform with in Paris and other regions of France together with three former musicians of NIGHTWOLF. This period proved to be very enriching creatively and emotionally - for LOU and the band. LOUs collaboration with YONA would last 6 years during which time they performed constantly through concerts, stepping stone competitions, festivals, etc.
In 1991, LOU and his band performed as opening act for RAOUL PETITE at the festival of AVIGNON, and in June of the same year they gave a concert at the LOCOMOTIVE in Paris. In 1992 Lou was seen at the National Final of a Stepping Stone competition for TOKYO at the GRAND REX theatre in Paris while he was still the opening act for AXEL BAUER in Paris. He then appeared in the French rock magazine ROCK’N’ FOLK. LOU was still the only guitarist-songwriter with YONA and it was not until 1994 that he left the band to join TRANSIT and started performing as a singer. After briefs stays in London and Minneapolis to improve his musical culture and practice of English, LOU spent the next five years performing with TRANSIT throughout the South of France.
In 1995, LOU met Pierrick MERAD and NATE during studio recording sessions and decided to start songwriting again. This meeting with Pierrick proved to be crucial, as it resulted in the production of LOU BONNIOs first CD album. The sound recording and mixing were done at the STUDIO MERAD by Pierrick MERAD who believed in LOU and had already worked for SONY MUSIC.
In March 2001, LOU launched himself as a solo artist, composing his songs mainly at night. He recorded his first single "WILD SCIENCE", which was soon followed by a second one "U FIND MY LIFE" for which LOU called upon the talents of his friend, Fabrice VILOTTE. VILOTTE is a guitarist and graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology of Los Angeles. What was intended as a one time appearance soon turned into a serious collaboration, with Fabrice bringing his guitar heroes of the 80s flair reminiscent of STEVE STEVENS, STEVE VAI, JOE SATRIANI and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.
Living in Montpellier, France, LOU continued his creative work recording at STUDIO MERAD. With the " FRENCH CONNECTION TEAM " at his side, the songs just kept coming. He became very well known throughout Europe as " THE POP-ROCK-HIT-SONG-MACHINE".And that title was not to be taken lightly.Wherever he performed there was a sold-out house. He graced radio and television with interviews on NRJ MONTPELLIER’S "ZIC NEWS" as well as RADIO AVIVA presenting videos , "DON’T PLAY WITH YOUR ANGELS", "A GOOD TIME " and "BAD DANCE".
When we suffered the tragic event of "9-11" , LOU wrote the song, "HOLY WAR" and followed up with the video that showed the world what had happened. His heart-warming lyrics and vocals created a soundtrack that truly served as a memorial to this tragedy.
In 2003, LOU released " LOU BONNIO...wild science ". It had varied popular tracks including, "HOLY WAR",
"WASTED TIME", "WOMEN", "DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING", "I’M NOT A LOSER" and of course. the title track, "WILD SCIENCE", as well as many others.The CD was written, recorded and produced by LOU.
2004-2005 brought another release, a MAXI SINGLE, "VIVRE en LEVITATION", which had 4 tracks, including the title track in FRENCH, as well as its counterpart in English, "STAY IN LEVITATION". The CD also had "IDEAL" and the HIT, " A GOOD TIME" which also was made into a VIDEO.
It was at this time,that Lou launched his site on MYSPACE, and the creativity, once again, just started pouring out!
Once again, LOU went back into the studio to start work on his new project, "HEAVEN"S TEARS". With many new players joining him , PHIL CARCENAC, on bass, came on board for studio work as well as being LOU"S LIVE PERFORMANCE bass player.
In 2006, LOU and his LIVE BAND performed two concerts at PLACE de LA COMEDY, KIOSQUE BOSQUE/ESPLANADE. It was a CONCERT TELETHON hosted by TV FRANCE 2 on Dec.8th and 9th and was a huge success. There were several bands that performed, but LOU"S band proved , by far, to be the most powerful and popular performances of the event!
With a new song , completed in the studio,just about every 2 months, LOU continued to please his many fans on his ever-growing MYSPACE page, by showcasing them on his player there on the site. It was there that he made contact with V.RACHEL ROSE, an American vocal producer/voice coach and made it known that he wanted to bring his music to the UNITED STATES . With her collaboration over the internet via MYSPACE and with a lot of communication, LOU brings his latest songs here to the U.S.
HE is also in the process of organizing the "PARALLELE SOUND DANAE SYSTEM FESTIVAL" to be held in the world-renowned, CASINO de PARIS", in NOVEMBER, 2008. There will be 5 popular European Artists performing there, to include, PASCAL MONO, YTA FARROW, OLIVER CAMPANA, REGIS VOGELENE and of course LOU BONNIO ~
LOU would like to release his new project, "HEAVEN"S TEARS, in the UNITED STATES, as well as tour there and in EUROPE.!!!!
