About me: I'm a writer living in the wilds of Vermont with bobcat and fisher cats and foxes and cilantro-munching woodchucks. Bear amble through the wild raspberries, deer peer in the windows, coyotes party at midnight, hawks swoop for field mice, and moose forage along the stone wall. I once witnessed a bullmoose mating with a young cow while the mother looked on. It was not pretty. I also like an occasional field trip to Fenway. Nothing like Sweet Caroline in the seventh inning stretch.
I teach at Spalding University in Louisville. Check out our MFA in Writing program.
My new nonfiction book, WHILE IN DARKNESS THERE IS LIGHT is now available.
Below are some of my published books and anthologies in which my work appears. For more details, visit my webpage at Louella Bryant or Ellie's House.
Who I'd like to meet: The Dalai Lama, Eddie Vedder, J.K. Rowling (saw her in June at Harvard), Michael Chabon, Susan Minot, Charlie Rose, Stephen Colbert, Terry Gross.
Hey, how do people know my birthday? Not that I mind. Very sweet. I'll drink my own OJ and vodka mix on my b-day! Across the pond it will be...looking forward to it.
Thanks for the report, Ellie. I wish I could say I've used my "leisure" time to write, but a long-lived stomach virus and the machinations around Dad's alzheimer's have left me no minutes to spare. Hope your students are all fabulous and your bags are packed :-) xxx Lou
Be careful kissing those ankles, Cutie -- I just got a new anklet with long- beaked kiwi on it! Have to have something to show for my trip down under, right? And speaking of neat sites, you sure learn fast. Yours looks great, slide show included! xx Lou
