Notorious DJ and producer CHRISTOPHER JUST had been haunted by that song for ages and one day he had the idea of doing a cover but was in need of a singer - then Louie came over & said „Hey man, consider me the voice! I love that song!“ so they teamed up and there you go. For the real tropical deal they got in contact with SENOR COCONUT! Yes, Senor Coconut – famous for his laptop salsa and acid merengue covers of Kraftwerk, Sade and Michael Jackson. The worlds only German/Chilean electrolatino collaborating with the worlds only Austrian electrocrooner, it was just meant to happen some day.

REALITY EP PLAYER
How did this man come along you may ask: Well, Louie Austen has been around for longer than you may realise. In his early 60ies by now, Louie has leaped from thriving as an enigmatic night club crooner to one of the most exhilarating performers dance music currently has to offer. Four albums and one Best Of down the line, one thing the Viennese Electro-crooner still doesnt go for is doing things by half: „Art must be a matter of life and death – otherwise its not art“ is Louies sincere conviction. And so is "I will never retire, I will probably die on stage but I dont give a fuck!" Whatever he does is done with his fullest commitment – and often regardless of the consequences. Admittedly, this reckless attitude has given him some serious trouble time and again. And yet it also made him what he is today: a man who finds himself an upcoming and sought-after artist whose career hasn’t yet reached its climax.
The last album Iguana was a balancing act, just like everything else in Louies life. His music allows Austen a transformation from a pure entertainer, who assumes the roles of those he pays tribute to, into an artist in his own right, no less. Part of Louie Austens appeal lies in the fact that he has not entirely discarded the entertainer in this metamorphosis. He brought many things along for the ride, and his know-how of how to entertain with verve and how to put on a great show, his charm and charisma, and the style of the urbane entertainer he had cultivated so long serve him equally well in the electronic underground. He is a mediator who mixes various genres, some of which were previously regarded as incompatible. For several years now he has managed to resolve alleged contradictions and break down prejudices jazz and dance beats, advanced age and youth culture, smart style and underground. In a way I stand for a kind of reconciliation, he describes his unique position, a bridge between old and new or between young and old.
These days apart from staying physically fit with playing tennis, Louie is occupied with lots of live dates worldwide & lots of projects. After the release of "Iguana" in 2006, he has released the "Summer Love EP" and "Reality EP" on internationally renowned klein records in coop with his own label LA Music. 2008 will see the release of an EP Louie recorded with Vredeber Albrecht known from Commercial Breakup & former keys-man of Blumfeld. Of course master Austen is already also working on another full-length album to see the light in 2009. Furthermore he is to join SENOR COCONUT & HIS ORCHESTRA on a couple of European dates as special guest on their AROUND THE WORLD TOUR in spring/summer 2008 - as in the tour dates section!
Apart from all that jazz Louie is having a singer part in an adaptation of the Nestroy play "Höllenangst" at the Viennese "Burgtheater" with guest performances to come in summer 2008 at the Waltherhaus in Bolzano/Italy and at the Residenztheater of Munich/Germany & is regularly swooning and crooning at the Vienna Marriott hotel. Besides he has his fingers in the film bizness also - the movie he had a cameo in as gambler; "The Counterfeiters / Die Fälscher" of Stefan Ruzowitzky; got an OSCAR for best foreign movie.
