Hailing from Scotland, singer/songwriter Louise Dodds has been taking her mix of jazz standards, vocalese numbers and original material throughout the UK and beyond, including a stint as resident vocalist at the 7 star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.In September 2009 she released her first original EP called Out of the Dark, which is now available to buy via download or mail order. In December 2005 she released an album of jazz standards and vocalese numbers, and since then , Louise Dodds has been invited to play at many prestigious venues, including two headline spots at London’s Pizza on the Park, has toured the UK and appeared at many festivals. She has also had the privelege of receiving tutelage from many great jazz singers, such as Sophie Bancroft, Jay Clayton and Sheila Jordan.
The album, released on independent label DS Records, has received great acclaim and been featured on many radio shows, both BBC and independent. A live telephone interview was also broadcast on the BBC Radio Leeds show “The Live Lounge” via Pizza on the Park.
Since then she has been writing extensively and continuing to perform, both in the UK and abroad. She is also regularly called upon as a session singer for many different genres.

I have been busy with some cool things this year. The first Jazz Bar album being one of them. It would have been great to have got you on it. Maybe the next one if you can lure yourself back to the tropics of 'burgh...
