About me:

I am truly passionate about music, art and dancing. I started painting with nail polish in 1991. It's a versatile and unique medium. In 18 years, I've found that the colours stay true. I usually use 40 layers of lacquer. As the layers build up, the canvas becomes saturated with paint, almost like a liquid gel. The finished paintings are luminescent and resemble stained glass. Others are intricately carved or bas relief. Now, I'm starting to do acetone washes that look just like conventional watercolours. Each piece takes about a year to finish. They're meant to be touched, and you can soak them in Woolite if they get dirty (the finished canvas reminds me of translucent linoleum). I've never met another artist who uses nail polish, so my techniques are my own. I sell some limited edition cards online. (Click on my website link to buy them online Almost all of my paintings are inspired by music or dance. I'm a member of debcoart's Mixed Media Workshop in the Ning Gallery. (You can view the slideshow in my blog.) I lost access to my first channel on My Space in May 2009. It was caught in mid-edit, but there are some good card pictures there: "http://www.myspace.com/user/ladylionesse" Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/user/louiseduvee. *Luke Edney's original music inspired a lot of my work in 2009. I like to be on the cutting edge of whatever I'm doing, so I pick up on new music and musicians quickly. LUKE EDNEY started playing by ear on his grandfather's guitar at 15... Who the hell STARTS with Mr. Robert Johnson and Mr. Jimi Hendrix? Luke does, and if you're interested, you can watch his videos on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/user/edaz92 & listen to his original songs on My Space: http://www.myspace.com/user/vintagesunflower For his new original music channel on You Tube, visit: http://www.youtube.com/user/LukeEdneyMusic The site just opened a few days ago as of 15 Dec 2009, so it might take a few days to set up. His songs run from full-tilt rock n roll ('She' and 'Don't Look Back') to chill ('I Don't Blame You'). His first single, 'My Work Here Is Done', features Mr. James Gallagher on drums and was produced by Mr. David Parker. He also writes songs that you wouldn't believe a 17-year old could write, but Luke sees the world from a mature point of view ('Time's Not On Your Side'). Now, Mr. Edney is 17, studying contemporary music in college. He has turned down one label, since he's perfectly capable of producing his own music. You can buy his songs on My Space, or download them, FREE. If you haven't heard him yet, I know you'll want to soon. I've often said hat he must be the twin-soul reincarnation of Robert Johnson and Jimi Hendrix, but his style is definitely his own. He can sing like I-don't-know-what! The first time I heard him, about two years ago, he knocked me out. He's been #1 on my private playlist ever since... He's a legend in the making. I also have his videos in the playlist 'Luke Edney', on my You Tube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/louiseduvee
