Wave the black flag. Pull on your ski masks. Louis Lingg and the Bombs is back with a new album! 20 songs of explosive, righteous and sometimes very funny pop bombs dropped from high up on cloud crazy. This is our year zero. This is our musical vomit after snacking on a lifetime of punk, hardcore, indie, techno, hip hop, electro and pop song. We can’t keep that meal down; it has to come out. This is our album We want to write songs for people to listen to whilst street fighting. This is the sound of the revolution. The sound of Molotovs hitting their targets. The sound of police retreating.

Emma Goldman said it’s not my revolution if I can’t dance to it. We like that a lot and would add that it’s not our revolution if we can’t laugh hysterically at stupid jokes. Down with the po-faced, sour anarchist stereotypes.

We love anarcho bands like Crass and Chumbawumba. We love pop genius like the homocore heroes, Pansy Division. We love rock weirdness like Butthole Surfers. We love the Crimethinc collective and Subcommandante Marcos for the poetry. We love the black bloc for their courage.

Music may not be able to save the world but we want to be there when capitalism burns, laughing and playing our guitars.

We want our mp3s playing in the headphones of kids while they barricade streets against riot cops. We want DJs to play are songs during the party for when another government falls beneath our feet.

Everyone must do their part in the revolution. Everyone has different skills to bring to the fight. We are best at writing quirky pop-punk songs, so that’s what we’ll damn well do! We’ve been blowing up the beer soaked bars of Paris since 2006. Spreading our seditious pop anthems throughout the underground radios and fanzines of France and beyond, we’ve been laughing and having a ball so far and we’ll continue as long as that’s the case.

Leurs influences sont d’abord punk de la génération 77 avec The Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Undertones ; jusqu’aux groupes punk modernes tel que The Epoxies, Antiflag, Rancid, Greenday . Ils gardent aussi en mémoire les chansons de leur enfance écrites par Shirley Ellis et celles de leur adolescence: Nirvana, Bikini Kill, The Pixies et The Butthole Surfers.
En France : Guerilla Poubelle, The Hatepinks et Charge 69.

Le groupe rend hommage à Louis Lingg, le fameux anarchiste de Chicago qui met fin à ses jours dans le couloir de la mort en 1886. Il inspire au groupes ses chansons les plus politiques, qui côtoient des morceaux plus ludiques et enfantins; mais le dénominateur commun a tous les morceaux de ce groupe reste l’énergie pop et l’enthousiasme militant.

Louis Lingg and the Bombs is a Parisian punk rock band formed way back in the summer of 2006.

The group is named after Louis Lingg, the famous Chicago anarchist who committed suicide on death row in 1887. Some of their songs are ultra-political anarchist punk rock anthems and some of their songs are like children's nursery rhymes. ALL of their songs are full of pop hooks and melodies and they are sung with energy and commitment to the cause of REVOLUTION!
