First Bands Announced For Lounge On The Farm & Last Few Earlybird Tickets Available

Lounge on the Farm are delighted to announce the first group of acts that will be playing the festival in July; Mr Scruff, Gong, The James Taylor Quartet, Steve Hillage Band, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, DJ Format (DJ Set), Wild Beasts, The Invisible, Wave Pictures, Baddies, Toddla T & MC Serosee, Zomby and Joe Gideon & The Shark are all set to play at the summer bash.

This year’s line up is looking like one the best yet for the Kent festival, organiser Matt Gough; "Already this year the line-up is shaping up to be the best we've ever had at Merton Farm. We're talking to some huge acts for the Cowshed this summer, but couldn't wait any longer to tell everyone about the quality of music we already have lined up for the tents this year. Roll on July!”

The Hoedown Dance Stage is set to host Mr Scruff who will be playing a very special marathon six hour set on Sunday afternoon. The world renowned DJ famous for his huge bass lines quirky beats and genre-hopping ‘decks-terity’ will provide festival goers with the perfect start to Sunday on the farm.

After a hugely popular and impressive appearance at last years festival featuring an amazing old school funk set DJ Format will be making a welcome return to Lounge on the Farm this year. Hotly tipped Toddla T & MC Serosee will also be heading back to the farm ahead of the hugely anticipated album ‘Skanky Skanky’ on 1965 Records. Zomby is another act with a huge amount of hype that will be gracing the dance stage this summer Pitchfork Media described his huge album Where Were You in 92? As ‘an electronic dance music family tree's branch rendered in flashing neon’. This is certainly one you do not want to miss.

The festival this year will be hosting some of the most exciting new guitar bands around. Following a host of critically acclaimed reviews for their self titled debut album The Invisible will be bringing their guitar fuelled future funk to the July bash. 2008 was a great year for Wild Beasts with their debut album Limbo, Panto receiving blanket acclaim in the music press. 2009 is looking like another great year for the band with a scheduled stop off at Lounge on the Farm in what is likely to be a hectic summer for the Leeds four piece.

As well as hosting some of the best up new and coming new artists in the country, this year Lounge on the Farm will, as always, be paying homage to some of Kent’s favorite sons and creators of the 'Canterbury Sound’. Gong, The James Taylor Quartet and The Steve Hillage Band will all be making appearances on the Furthur Stage. Representing the most important arts movement to ever come from Kentish lands, this is a taste of our musical heritage served up with some of the freshest music around today

Yo Lounge On The Farmasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.

Hey there, hows it going?

We just thought we'd send you a message to alert you about our video for our debut single Prism. We released the track from our upcoming album "To The Rest of The World" last month. It is now available via iTunes, Amazon and via SMS in the UK. Text "Track 3852" to 83262 and a reply will tell you how to download to your computer. We are obviously working hard to get up as high as possible in the charts so any help will be very much appreciated!

Also, we have our new youtube video! If you have a youtube account please comment the page as to what you think :)

Thanks again for your continued support for our music and MySpace friendship!

The band are also on the same label as, and share members with THE SONS OF NOEL AND ADRIAN who were so well recieved at the club earlier this year-this will be a rare oppurtunity to catch this rapidly upcoming band in a small venue.....

TWILIGHT FOLK PRESENTS….
SHARRON KRAUS
With support from Peter Delaney and C Joynes
Live at Orange Street Music Club,
Canterbury
Weds October the 21st 8.00pm
£5 in advance/£6 on door

“Sharron Kraus is a dark-folk gem. Listening to her high, clear voice cut through melodies woven from acoustic guitar, banjo and hurdy-gurdy, you may struggle to remember which late-'60s traditionalists beat her to the material. Here's one folklore expert whose originals feel both authentic and alive….Exquisite second album by this wonderful singer. She conjures up visions of Karen Dalton, Shirley Collins, Judy Dyble and even early Joni. Live she was fantastic too. ..this moves from traditional folk (in a Shirley Collins, Anne Briggs style) to her own songs and enchants all the way. An immaculate album from a major new singer.”

Peter Delaney lives in Limerick, Ireland. He comes from a folk music background and plays his own unique style, drawing on early Hawaiian folk songs and Alan Lomax field recordings as well as more contemporary musicians such as Joanna Newsom and Josephine Foster. Peter released his debut EP/Mini Album "Duck Egg Blue" in April 2007 to much acclaim.

Peter has played throughout the UK, Ireland and Norway and has shared the bill with A Hawk and a Hacksaw, Alasdair Roberts, Jozef van Wissem, Juana Molina and The Swell Season.
