Arthur Pochon (AKA Art Bleek) started studying piano at age 6. He enrolled in the conservatory at age 9 to study saxophone and music theory. He graduated from the prestigious institution 12 years later. During his years of study, Arthur played in various musical ensembles, ranging from chamber groups to full orchestras. He listened primarily to classical, jazz, world as well as electronic music and started composing original material on a 4-track tape recorder.
In 1996, he left to Bostons Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship to attend their summer music program. This trip proved to be a life-changing experience and gave direction to Arthur's artistic choices. Starting in 1997, he found employment in major Paris recording studios where he developed his knowledge of the recording and mixing processes. At that time he began equipping his home recording studio with audio gear. This allowed him to produce his own music at home, which projects ranging from atonal, experimental work to electro-jazz sonorities. He also scored music to short films and contemporary plays during that period.
In 2001, his music drew the attention of several recording labels ()among them Le Maquis recording label) which released tracks on various compilations under the Art Bleek name. He started actively performing on the Paris club scene as a saxophonist alongside deejays and with various projects. At this time, he also started spinning an eclectic blend of jazz, bossa-nova, world and electro-jazz records in hip Parisian bar and restaurants.
Towards the end of 2004, Arthur signed a recording contract with our label, Loungin' Recordings, and his first LP an three singles came out towards the end of 2005.
The Young Lovers
Joshua 'Herve' Harvey is a producer from Essex who has been involved with music since the age of 9 when he received his first drum lesson! Recently he has been responsible for the freshest dance music being released right now - albeit under numerous aliases! His music injects fun back into club music- his range of influences (from rock, rave, Baile funk, UK garage) is wider than most and is what is exciting dance floors and music lovers around the world.
In his early teens he discovered dance music and started to build his own home studio and bought himself some Technics 1210's where he began to teach himself how to make music. After three years of being in a band Joshua broke out of it and began developing his own material and sound. At around that time he went to University to study and set up his own electro/electronic label Tomorrow Records. Although successful, Josh became frustrated with the scene and eventually folded the label around the time he left uni.
The second chapter in his career kicked off after meetind Dave 'Switch' Taylor, he saw massive potential in Josh's music and released the first Herve EP on his Dubsided label.
At the same time, Speaker Junk was set up by himself and Trevor Loveys aswell as another moniker for Josh - Voodoo Chili.
Josh soon teamed up with Sinden as The Count Of Monte Cristal and began, firstly on his own, then with Sinden on the 'Beeper' EP. Currently Josh is working on The Count and Sinden album aswell as an album for his new live project Dead Soul Brothers
Li'll Bo Tweak
This is a project with Trevor Loveys (Tragic Magic / Switch / House Of 909/ Speaker Junk / Loungin' / Izit? / Front Room) and Chris Belsey - Loungin Recordings. Li'll Bo Tweak have being getting props from their remix of Art Bleek - 'Between Yesterday and Tomorrow' on LGN012 plus the smash hit with Herve as the Loungin Kollective with the stormer 'Riddim Come 4ward'.
Trevor Loveys
Breeden the man behind the legendary Tribal label and now Pagan UK and it was his label that gave Trevor the chance to record his first album 'The Children We Were'. It was this album that put House Of 909 on the deep house map attaining album of the Month in Muzik and DJ not to mention features in NME, Music Week and iD.
In 1998 after having some personal and creative differences with his parter Nigel Casey, Trevor decided to go solo and started producing for his friend Omid 16B's label Alola. It was then that he started to collaborate with his bass playing friend Chris Pedley to create the album 'Era' which crossed boundaries from deep house and electro to broken beat and downtempo.
Trevor continued to develop his sound and worked on projects for Ephemoral and Loungin' as well as his Soul Sides project that he is working on with producer Solid Groove.
Dave Taylor and himself then went on to create the Switch fame which blew up on the dance scene. This sound was also explored when he got together with Josh 'Herve' Harvey to produce tunes on the Speakerjunk label as 'Speaker Junk'. Now Trevor is working with old time friend Affie Yusuf and Chris Belsey on the new label 'Tragic Magic' http://www.myspace.com/tragicmagicrecords
