Lou Tapage (which in the medieval French dialect Langue d’Oc means "the uproar") was born in 1999 with the meeting of seven talented musicians from Saluzzo in northwestern Italy. Their different styles combined to create a sound so unique that a new term has been created to describe their genre: Nu Folk. It is a personal and eclectic sound, deep-rooted but always on the go. A strong but intangible leitmotiv, always present, is the energy of the band itself. At its core, Lou Tapage is in fact an energetic exploration, without preconceptions, into what music is and what it might convey... .. After researching the ancient Langue d'Oc, they decided to compose lyrics in the Catalan, Provençal and Occitan dialects, sometimes mixed with elements of French, Italian and Spanish (Castilian), along with traditional melodies... .. In the past few years, Lou Tapage has performed at many concerts throughout Italy. You can see the complete list on ..www.loutapage.com..... .. In 2003 a five song demo-tape was produced. In December 2005 the album "Lou Tapage" was released by Videoradio (..www.videoradio.org.. -- the label of, among others: Andrew Braido, Faso, Meyer, Menconi, Maxx Furian, Tullio de Piscopo and of the orchestra Symphonic National RAI) and distributed by HotRecords. Lou Tapage (in Langue d’Oc ..il.. ..frastuono..) è un’idea che nasce nel 1999 dall’incontro tra alcuni musicisti del saluzzese... Le diverse anime che compongono i Lou Tapage contribuiscono a rendere il loro stile assolutamente personale, tanto da aver portato all’esigenza di ideare una nuova definizione per il genere proposto, ovvero ..NuFolk..... Quello che emerge è uno stile eclettico e personale, definito ma sempre in movimento, caratterizzato dalla presenza di un intangibile ma forte Leitmotiv che è rappresentato dal gruppo stesso e dalla sua energia... L'idea di fondo dei Lou Tapage è infatti la ricerca, senza preconcetti, della Musica in sé e di quello che può trasmettere in tutte le sue forme e manifestazioni..... ..In seguito ad un periodo di ricerca linguistica sulle derivazioni attuali dell’antica ..Langue d’Oc.., si è deciso di utilizzare per i brani di composizione propria (che costituiscono, accanto a melodie riarrangiate, la maggior parte del repertorio) il ....Catalano...., il ....Provenzale.... e l’....Occitano...., talvolta contaminati, per finalità eufoniche, con elementi francesi, italiani e spagnoli (castigliani) o fusi tra di loro all’interno dello stesso testo. .... ..Il 2003 vede l’autoproduzione del primo demo-tape contenente cinque brani... Nel dicembre 2005 i Lou Tapage hanno terminato la realizzazione del primo album omonimo, prodotto dall’etichetta milanese ..Videoradio ..(label, tra gli altri, di Andrea Braido, Faso, Meyer, Menconi, Maxx Furian, Tullio de Piscopo e dell’Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI) - ..www.videoradio.org.. - e distribuito da ..HotRecords.....
