"Here's a few friends that have played tunes round their locals' in various incarnations for a while now. I've caught their drummer playing in a hyper-happy-tribal-experimental outfit, their guitarist lending countrified licks to a folk duo, and their keyboard player running a gig space - You see, there's a lot of ideas' bouncing around this lot.
I'm pretty happy that fortunate timing and circumstance has brought this energetic three-piece together. In a flurry of productivity, they've laid down tracks that perfectly marry all those approaches, and amount to one slightly eerie, ramshackled pop ensemble.
'I Know You're Real', the first single, absolutely nails what I'm talking about. Expect more 'synth pop in the jungle' attitude on their imminent album, expected to be released in early 2010 on Sensory Projects."
-Steph Hughes, Triple J. "Melbourne indie kids Love Connection sure aren't wasting any time. The relative new-comers only banded together in April this year, but they've already surfaced with their debut album. It's indie rock that's wrapped in fuzzy spectral vibrations, melody and harmonies". -Zan Rowe, Triple J.
"Love Connection's 'I Know You're Real' (sensory projects).
What an opening! The middle and end are also amazing. Sensory projects bring us another romantic original, pulsing bundle of ideas in the music of Love Connection. These three manage to squeeze gothic western baroque pop and psych folk into their Korg loops, ticking drums and random assorted instruments. This is up there with Mum Smokes and Kid Sam!"

"Sprung from the same uber-supportive scene as Rat VS Possum, The Parking Lot Experiments, Psuche and Milk Teddy, Melbourne upstarts Love Connection only formed in April this year. The once duo of Michael Caterer and Kobi Simpson has since absorbed Rat Vs Possum’s Dean Noble on drums and percussion, making for a trio whose knack for complicated, ethereal sounds can’t be denied. This magnetic single is the first proper taste of Love Connection’s self-titled album, arriving next year on the reliable Sensory Projects imprint. ‘I Know You’re Real’ latches on early, setting muddy drums against smeared layers of wavering synths and chant-like vocals. It’s busy and surreal, with a thrilling keyboard melody buried in the chorus, a hunting guitar line towards the end and other details that are fascinating in their fleetingness. The single lasts not even three minutes but feels considerably longer ... in a good way. It’s so wholly immersive that time seems to distort as we listen. As comparisons go, there are flashes of St Helens in the song’s spooky vibe and tugging pulse, but also similarities to the synth-heavy US trio Chairlift.
The most notable success here is the band's exploration of a cryptic sound while still remaining accessible enough to get talked about on triple J. The second ‘I Know You’re Real’ finishes, there’s an undeniable pull to replay it, which is all anyone really wants from a single."
- Doug Wallen, Mess & Noise.
"Of them all, the standouts were the very special Love Connection with their synth-pop perfection. Presenting a beautiful duo, Love Connection explore drum machines and melancholy framed by lush thick sounds and an openness to musical exploration, as Michael in lion suit strums the guitar with his tail. In an otherwise gorgeous set , the set closer 'All Over' was nothing short of bewitching."

LOVE CONNECTION SINGLE 'I KNOW YOU'RE REAL' OUT NOW ON SENSORY PROJECTS.
"LOVE CONNECTION DEBUT ALBUM TO BE RELEASED IN 2010 ON SENSORY PROJECTS & INERTIA."
Love Connection are set to release their hypnotic synth-pop melodies on their debut album to be released in early 2010 on Sensory Projects & Inertia.
Love Connection’s debut album is a collection of low-fi, synth-based electronica, dabbling in new wave and psychedelic sensibilities with a strong pop influence. The trio give birth to an amalgamation of vintage keyboards, korgs and casiotones, throttling with sparse progressive guitar lines and percussive drum solos, described as “being heard through an old pair of headphones that feed rainbow-sounding grit into your ears” and “epic pop tunes that feel like a waterfall made of warm, multi-coloured soup rushing over your entire body.” LAUNCH DATES UP SOON!
Hey guys! Thanks heaps to YOU guys for being so accommodating and friendly! Glad you like the album. You guys were amazing and really looking forward to hearing your album once it's done.
