Sounds Like
“….they’re a rambling, schizoid, persona that swing wildly from one form to another, overriding the listeners need (nay craving) for a neat, definable, easy-to-swallow event…”…ultimately a challenging and rewarding experience…”
Some people prefer plain old vanilla and are quite happy to take refuge in the safety of the recognizable and the comfort of the linear. So what if you're not just a good old vanilla lovin' kinda person?
Something missing from culture that resonates with your take on things? The Loved Ones don't claim to be the panacea but they might have something to catch your imagination.
They're a ragged group of musicians with an eccentric, mismatched background and for all intents and purposes, they shouldn't hang together so well. However they do so in such a way that it's undeniable that you are listening to something special and unforgettable.
Their music, just like their disparate credentials covers a spectrum of styles whilst maintaining a unique identity and they will take you on a journey as seen from their own peculiar view.
They've peopled a universe with paranoiacs, fallen missionaries and Stepford victims to name but a few. Forget about all conventional terms of engagement: you are about to enter the world of The Loved Ones!
The band would concede that their music swings wildly between the sublime and the inconceivable but they keenly point out that it's never 'off the peg' and defiantly snub the rules in favour of their chosen path.
The new album 'Coolgilly and the Freakshow' from Centascope is now available worldwide from CD Baby and directly from the merchandise page of the official website.
You can also get the album from Apple iTunes, MSN Music, Rhapsody, Napster, Amazon and many more.

Great tunes. Great variety in styles, a bit Jazz, SKA and very scary in parts..I do feel like I've come thru the other end of a Bros. Quay film. HAHA! Down In The Hole has a bloody great energy, sparadic and freaky, was it included in a Roger Corman early work. LOL! 3 am is v hybrid Buena Vista Social Club & Man With X-Ray Eyes...for a while I thought the freaky voices was saying "no crab-apples!" in the background... Great tunes guys, keep it up! Feel free to comment on my linear work..HAHA!
