Founded in April of 2009, Love Is The Cure is an emerging social enterprise committed to empowering people with borderline personality disorder. Headquartered in Nashville, our organization encompasses a national volunteer network as well as regional affiliates in major US cities such as New York City.
We are on the forefront of the BPD awareness movement—establishing alliances with the leading experts, organizations, and influencers in the BPD community. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is one of the most controversial diagnoses in psychology today.Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a mood disorder disorder that typically involves unusual levels of instability in mood; "black and white" thinking, chaotic and unstable interpersonal relationships, self-image, identity, and behavior; as well as a disturbance in the individual's sense of self.
Our mission is to empower people with borderline personality disorder. (BPD)
Stats +BPD has a higher incidence of occurence than schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, and is present in about %2 of the population. +BPD has received very little attention and funding by the US health care system. +BPD is highly stigmatized in the world. +BPD is virtually unknown to the public. +About 5.4 million people in the USA have BPD. +BPD is the fastest growing population in the mental health system. ![]()
Our vision is to pioneer a brighter future for people with borderline personality disorder by providing them with some of the support and resources they need to reach their full potential as valuable contributors to our society. We will achieve this by producing an eclectic borderline lifestyle blog and digital TV channel, creating proactive public awareness of BPD through marketing campaigns and a stylish line of inspirational merchandise to be distributed through both online and retail channels.
