Additionally: it was noted by a friend of mind that the reaction to text can be laid out in a spectrum between reflective reading, where the reader is part of the text, and the text is considered specifically in relationship to the reader, and immersive reading, where the ego is subsumed into the ego and motivations of the text. About me:
I am nothing and everything, all at once.
Except when I'm not.
I have trouble with Zen. I'm in love with God. I was thinking about marrying him, but these days they're marrying girls off to his son, who's been dead for two thousand years. Not a good deal in my book. (Celibacy? For followers of the creator and sustainer of life? Uh, hello...)
The other problem I keep having is that I'm not sure that He exists.
Or She exists. No need to be sexist about this. But that kind of qualification typifies what frustrates me about this God character. If God did exist, how could He (or She) tell if He was a He or a She? Does God have legs to look between? I never thought so... Except that this thing is every he and she.
...convoluted theological nonsense. I love it, but we have a complicated relationship.
My aunt Kendyl would say, "Bless your heart, you are a UU."
...that is an entirely different story.
Dear God,
Please save Schrodinger's Cat, even if he did leave a mouse on the doctor's pillow this morning. Cats, as all beings, are bound to follow their nature.
Can we not love them for this devotion to nature, whether it allies itself with our ideas of righteousness? ...just a thought.

Have you ever listened to the sound your body makes when you breathe? It's not a verbalized sound, it's nothing loud or flashy. It's just a simple, brief, timeless sound. Now, while still breathing, and still listening to your breathing, think about the sounds that make up the name that is beyond names in the historical biblical texts. YHWH- the tetragrammaton. Every breath you take speaks the nameless name into the world; it's not quite a Buddha by the roadside; just something to think about.
