  • Bio

LOVEMAKER is an electronic folk-pop trio. Combining live instruments with electronic sampler, a range of music is created, from laid-back and atmospheric tunes to popping trippy dance beats. Fans find them performing all around Toronto any night of the week and follow their ever-evolving recordings online. They have ventured onto the road with much success around Ontario and Quebec and have their sights set on moving between the coasts to bring their songs to all of Canada. These three friends came together from solo-folk projects to play and write songs together. Laura Boyle and Shira Gellman are leading ladies with real star quality and amazing harmonies. They rock out together on their electric guitars, weaving together melodies and playing off each other. Matthew Maaskant is a man of all machines; rocking the knobs on his keyboard and keeping the chaos in time with the sampler, creating the electronic element that makes this group something truly new and different.

That was a great set at The Tiger Bar. A pristine electronic sound accented by sweet zen-like vocals. Synth-pop with melodic sci-fi appeal.
