In keeping with the spirit of independence/freedom, Love Not Dead is me and friends, who I am working with: in my studio, on other projects, collaborating with... not unlike the way Guided By Voices, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix... functioned (No, I don't think I'm a rock star). It's not quite a "Solo Ego Project", but it will not have the Emotional Drama of being a "Band", where we're fucked, if someone can't make it. I like the way Johnathan Richman thought about performing. I would like to be able to play, in the rain, with no electricity, by myself, when my guitar is half broken.

Geoff Knoop is the driving force behind Love Not Dead, a brilliant one-man indie juggernaut. Not constrained by a full band and the ensuing schedule conflicts, egos, and posturing, Geoff invites people to record with him and to share the stage at live gigs. Or, when all else fails, he just does everything himself. Comparisons to Guided By Voices' Robert Pollard are not without merit; Geoff combines crafty, hook-laden songwriting with earnest and compelling vocals to create a swirling maelstrom of 60's-infused Britpop with a modern San Francisco edge. His latest offering, 2442, is nothing short of an indie masterpiece.
