Married, mother & grandmother - youngest grandchild born on Clay Aiken's birthday. Employed full time, sing in choir, love to travel.
Highlights: Have enjoyed several recent trips to Ohio & Pennsylvania, my motherland, but the best trips have been Rome to sing for Pope John Paul II with our choir and Ireland to celebrate a millennium anniversary of the great Brian Boru, the first great high king of Ireland who brought all the country together, but then was himself murdered by a Viking. Brian was betrayed by his ex-wife. Which tells one to be careful about whom you choose for your spouse.
Brian was a giant red-head who wielded a mighty sword - but in the end it was a woman who brought him down. Too, too sad. I retain a decided, perhaps genetically determined, partiality for redheaded men - like the guy below. Who says he can't dance?
.
Who I'd like to meet: Barbara Boxer, the feisty senator from California. She's eloquent & she fights for what she believes in. I may not agree with her half the time, but I admire her strength and integrity.
Bono - because he's Irish and political and humanitarian- and his band, singing voice & original music are brilliant.
Clay Aiken (again - enjoyed very brief M & G last year in Ohio) because he's a paradox,a humanitarian, very bright & witty and charismatic, and his singing is so beautiful. He inspires people to be & do their best, to overcome obstacles & to share with others. He's a standout concert performer - because he injects so much of himself into the events - and his playful interactions with the audience & his fellow musicians is priceless. Did I mention that sometimes he is gorgeous? Yeah, I'm that shallow - but I liked him even at this Atlanta audition when he looked like he could have been auditioning for Revenge of the Nerds. The voice, his quirkiness, courage, vulnerability & Southern charm were what initially drew me to him - I wonder how much of that has changed. Regardless, I hope one day to hear a CD from a major label that captures his full range - yes!
