LOVE Story is the story of LA band LOVE & their legendary frontman Arthur Lee. Their tale is one of the great untold rock & roll stories. One of the first mixed race rock bands, the dark vision of their music set them apart from the utopian ideals of the 'Flower Power' generation and the 'Summer of Love' era.
LOVE Story features extensive interviews with LOVE's front man and main songwriter Arthur Lee, as well as all surviving original band members - Johnny Echols, John Fleckenstein, Alban 'Snoopy' Pfisterer, Michael Stuart, Elektra boss Jac Holzman, producer Bruce Botnick & The Doors' John Densmore, as well as archive interview footage of the late Bryan Maclean.
LOVE Story covers their journey from the beginning, to the present day.
From their origins at Dorsey High School in South Los Angeles, to their disintegration in 1968, and their continuing relevance to this day.
Sadly the interviews we filmed with Arthur Lee were to be his last. He was diagnosed with acute myeloid lukemia and died on August 3rd 2006. The world is a duller place without him.
LOVE Story received its UK premiere showing at the 50th London Film Festival in October 2006, with Johnny Echols and Jac Holzman in attendance and its US premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June 2007.
The DVD is now on sale - see details below
