About me: Loving Day is about fighting prejudice through education and creating a sense of community among people that engage in meaningful interracial and intercultural relationships. The annual Loving Day celebrations commemorate Loving v. Virginia (1967), the Supreme Court case that legalized interracial relationships in America. The campaign uses digital media to provide educational resources and to encourage people nationwide to host their own celebrations on the Sunday closest to June 12th. Loving Day teaches people about the history of interracial couples in America and works to make the Loving case a universally recognized civil rights landmark.

Who I'd like to meet: Loving Day is about remembering and celebrating your rights in any way you see fit. You can invite your friends over for a barbeque or a dinner party, make a toast, or spend some time with someone you love. The important thing is to make Loving Day your own, and to spread the word to others who might not know about it yet. Loving Day is a great reason to celebrate.
Contact us about your party and send us a nice group photo! This way, everyone will know how many people are celebrating with them.
This year's Loving Day Celebration was even better than I thought.
I honestly had a feeling that it was going to be a good turnout spurred by the overwhelming support of President Obama, but multiracial people as the fastest growing demo in America? Wow...that's all I can say...WOW!!! Now, THAT is PROGRESS!!!
I know that we as Americans still have some work to do in order to eliminate racial prejudice and discrimination, but this year's celebration was truly a step in the right direction.
About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
