Lovitt Records was founded by Brian Lowit in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1995. In 1998 Lovitt relocated to Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Lovitt is proud to have documented such DC-and Richmond-area bands such as the Frodus, Del Cielo, Haram, Four Hundred Years, Sleepytime Trio, Rah Bras, and Bats and Mice. From initially exploring the quirky stylings of the Monorchid to the melodic drive of Engine Down, Lovitt is firmly committed to exploring a variety of genres while maintaining a no-nonsense, punk aesthetic.
Attention Bands: We are not currently looking to pick up any new artists or releases so please do not e mail us through myspace asking us if we are. We appreciate your interest but are a small label and put out a limited number of releases a year.
