RESIDENT DJS
DADDY KEV
[Alpha Pup]
Batting first on the Low End Theory lineup is legendary producer and label boss Daddy Kev. As a producer and engineer, he's spent the last decade crafting classics for the likes of AWOL One, Busdriver, The Grouch, Mix Master Mike, Abstract Tribe Unique, D-Styles, Freestyle Fellowship, The Shape Shifters and many more. His DJ sets are a high-tech affair with Kev primarily engaged in live remixes, slicing experimental beats and hip-hop classics to shreds. http://www.myspace.com/daddykev
NOBODY
[Plug Research]
From his adventures on the road with Mars Volta and Prefuse 73, to his production and remixes for Postal Service, Mystic Chords of Memory and Busdriver, coupled with his own solo work on labels such as Rough Trade and Plug Research, Nobody is a living tour de force of creative genius. http://www.myspace.com/nobodyelvin
THE GASLAMP KILLER
[Low End Theory]
Over the course of the last few years, Gaslamp Killer has established a solid rep for devastating beats and intricate cuts. This nomadic West Coaster has steadily smashed the scene from San Diego to Los Angeles to San Francisco, earning the respect of heavyweight players in the process. Bear witness to one of his epic sets and see what the buzz is all about. http://www.myspace.com/thegaslampkiller
D-STYLES
[Funkshitup]
His virtuoso skills on the turntables have been compared to that of Jimi Hendrix and John Coltrane. As a former member of Invisibl Skratch Piklz and Beat Junkies, he toured the globe, helping transform turntablism into a global phenomenon. Now, the legendary D-Styles is back on the frontlines of underground culture, shredding your soul every week at Low End Theory. http://www.myspace.com/djdstyles
RESIDENT MC
NOCANDO
[Alpha Pup]
He's no longer a secret. After winning the 2007 Scribble Jam MC Battle Championship, Nocando has been catapulted to new levels international fame. He spent many Thursday nights honing his skills at Project Blowed, and has broken the dreams and hopes of countless would-be-MCs. http://www.myspace.com/nocando
RESIDENT ARTIST
MEAR ONE
With a self-taught painting career that spans over twenty years, Mear One has achieved mythic status on the world stage of graffiti. A museum-level fine artist, Mear One continues to challenge the paradigms of urban art with each new endeavor. Witness a true master at work. http://www.myspace.com/mearone
FEATURED GUESTS: THIS WEDNESDAY MAY 14TH 2008
On Wednesday, May 14th, Low End Theory returns with another night of amazing music. On this special evening, the ground-breaking electronic music night [eraser] is back after a five year hiatus for one special night at Low End Theory, featuring original [eraser] residents edIT, Mochipet and Eight Frozen Modules. All Low End Theory residents (Daddy Kev, Nobody, D-Styles, GLK and Nocando) are on deck this week. The back area will again be CLOSED this week, so early arrival is suggested:
EDIT
[Alpha Pup]
For the seasoned Low Ender, this man needs no introduction. One of our founding fathers, edIT has been touring non-stop for the past seven months promoting his Certified Air Raid Material album on Alpha Pup. He finally made it back home for some much needed R&R, and will be unveiling some brand new heaters at the [eraser] reunion. Fuck quantizing. No grids allowed. http://www.myspace.com/edit
MOCHIPET
[Daly City]
Born in Taiwan R.O.C. to rocket scientist father and kindergarten teacher mother, David Wang (a.k.a. Mochipet) did not get his start in music until the age of 15, when the urge of metal guitar overtook him in Livermore California. Rocking through a set of 2 in speakers and a cheap stiletto six-string, David Wang conjured up the forces which began his music adventure. http://www.myspace.com/mochipet
EIGHT FROZEN MODULES
[Adjunct]
Kenneth James Gibson a.k.a. [a]pendics.shuffle a.k.a. Eight Frozen Modules is a man of many personas. When Kenneth isn't in the studio reeking havoc on his neighbors, he is touring the world playing his music for the crazy kids late at night. Ken currently lives in Los Angeles and co-runs the label Adjunct, a forward thinking abstract techno label. http://www.myspace.com/eightfrozenmodules
