Independence-minded rock trio The Lowercase Thieves (pictured above) have kept busy over the last few months, hollering into the mics and smacking the power chords and cracked cymbals around the stages. Made up of former members of 351 Cleveland (bassist Dustin Fanning), Maytag (drummer Stephen Blackmore), and Edison (guitarist Ryan Carducci), the busy local band plays an aggressive, edgy, bulky style of rock in the vein of classic Volcano Suns, Superchunk, Scratch Acid, and Fugazi.

Lowercase Thieves This Charleston punk-rock trio is comprised of members from former bands 351 Cleveland, Maytag and Edison. The music is aggressively tuneful, recalling the early work of regional juggernauts like Superchunk and Archers of Loaf (minus the superb feedback). Their credo, "f..!k art, let's dance," suggests a wry playfulness that is supported by their freewheeling mayhem.
