Lowpro Lounge co-founder and dnb instigator, James Chris moved to San Francisco in the winter of 2000. Since then, he has performed worldwide with members of Sound Tribe Sector 9, DJ Logic, Particle and Abstract Rude to name a few. JC's unique blend of drum & bass with funk and soul has gained him national notoriety both with the electronic music commnuity and live music fans alike.
Jeff Wareham is a Bay Area producer and Lowpro Lounge co-founder. He started his music career in New York City producing tracks for Sire Records and Columbia NY. In 1998, J.Tonal moved to San Francisco and continued to perform music and do graphic design for the SF Bay Guardian newspaper. He has shared the bill with such notable musicians as DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, DJ Vadim, and Ott.
Majitope is a musical combination of Majikal Isotopes. Master of his uniquely cultivated brand of GardenHouse, He conjures elements of Dub, Tech, Bass, Funk, Minimal, and House with grand overtone influences of Jazz, Space, Earth, and Spirit.
Citizen Ten - Downtempo, Old School Breaks, Psych Rock
Citizen Ten is a triple threat in the electronic music world, occupying the roles of producer, DJ, and scratch-master. What inspires him when he is producing and DJing? I'm basically trying to dispel this soft reputation that downtempo music has developed lately, and give it that hard edge that I dig.
Venturing from the northwest shore of Lake Superior in the great white north of Canada, Andrew Ribotto currently resides in Lower Haight in San Francisco. His sound is an electro/acoustic synthesis combining over 15 years of academic institutional piano instruction with psychedelic rock/blues guitar and the modern electronic music apparatus.
Underground SF production artist Snareface aka Jarvez Turnage has been pioneering nu school freshness with Lowpro for many years now. His style of MPC-centric production, off-the-wall antics during performances, and maximum destruction on the effects knob always leaves the audience gasping. Recently celebrated as 2nd place in the 2007 SF Laptop Battle.
KnowSleep is a collaboration involving skilled producers Knowa Knowone and Sleepyhead. Their stlye crosses between massive walls of dubstep super-basslines and melodic tracks that are chill & dubby. They scored a great success with the KnowSleep album, available on Addictech. Check out their new EP on Lowpro Lounge Recordings, Clearly in Dreams, dropping Nov 24th.
The Flying Skulls' music makes me feel like I was slathered up in baby oil and trying to ride a grease pony. It's dirty, and I know funk because I'm from the South. (Erin Belle from Mississippi) The Flying Skulls is a nu school, crunked-out three piece that plays live improvisational dub-step, breaks, and electro. Consisting of three experienced producer/performers, who all have their own styles and signatures, The Flying Skulls can captivate a room with melodic, explosive beats, or whip up a dance floor with hard hitting house jams. The Flying Skulls are: J.Tonal, Snareface, and Jerome Forney

Almost half of the music artists featured on this release are Lowpro Lounge friends and family like J.Tonal, Brizzlescratch, Ghost, edIT, and Parc Ranger. Below are some samples.
Lowpro Lounge is a DJ and production collective that cut its teeth in the San Francisco latenight scene. The group has blossomed into a robust brand including a record label (Lowpro Lounge Recordings), a line of signature gear, and the Lowpro Lounge series of innovative party environments.
Where is the Lowpro Lounge exactly? That's a common question, Sherlock. Basically, we are a collective that focuses on the design of innovative performance environments at what ever venue we happen to be bringing our trade to.
We are people who love music and love to have fun. We bring a post-rave sensability to electronic music gatherings and make an effort to include artists from many genres.
We are music freaks, party people, cool cats, and family.
We love to contribute to the community here in SF, and we bring a highly focus ethic of underground production that embraces many artforms. From DJing to live production... from VJing to video production... from live painting to kinetic art. We think it is important to have an outlet for the progressive dance music and funky electronic/acoustic fusion we love, as well as a platform for all the amazingly talented kids cooking up their art in San Francisco.
Like SF Station said, "As usual, visionary music leads the way into fresh, untested directions of cultural synthesis. If you want a deep immersion into the latest local artistic underground, dive into the currents of San Francisco's Lowpro Lounge."
