So step up to the plate Lowri Evans. On her admirable album Kick The Sand Evans has a stunningly intimate version of U2’s ‘With Or Without You’ with just her voice, guitar and cello. But it’s not that she can’t write herself, as all the other songs are her own. There’s the sassily slinky ‘I Can’t Decide’, as well as the equally beguiling ‘Not At Maria’s’. She’s given excellent support from co-producer Lee Mason on guitar, and in his and Wyn Jones’ uncluttered production her warm and expressive voice reaches the parts of you most other singers don’t".

Based in South West Wales and playing in live music venues such as The Toucan Club and Clwb Ifor Bach (Cardiff), The Brunswick (Swansea) and The Queens Hall (Narberth), she is gaining a good following and reputation. Lowri has made various radio appearances being awarded Live Session of 2004 on Radio Pembrokeshire, Album of the Week on Radio Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) and her songs are often played on Frank Hennessys Radio Wales show Celtic Heartbeat. Also in 2005 she donated a track to the Pembrokeshire Acoustic Sessions Tsunami Relief Album www.shireinitiative.co.uk.
Accompanied by Lee Mason on guitar and a full band for bigger venues, Lowris music is a blend of Folk, Alternative Country, Jazz and Blues. She appeared at The Small Nations Festival in Llandovery, The Pontardawe Festival, Uplands Festivals in Swansea and the Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly in 2004/ 2005, 2006 saw her at the Broadstairs Folk Festival, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau and Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham, and 2007 she played at the Celtic Blue Rock Festival, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, Llangollen Fringe to name a few. Frank Hennessy of Radio Wales also had her in the studio to record a live session for his 'Celtic Heartbeat' show in July 2007. She released a welsh album on the RASP label at Fflach Studios in July 2006 www.fflach.co.uk and released an english album 'Kick the sand' July 2007
