   About Low Sea Roar
“…I stare off into the dark and howling Low Sea Roar…” ~Jack Kerouac, Big Sur. The members of Low Sea Roar met while mutually searching for a sound that satisfied what they had begun in other projects but not fully realized, despite the quality of each. Facing the reality of those projects disbanding, all took an amount of off-time waiting to find others who shared a common aesthetic impulse and drive to realize those ideas. Jake Hosek and Andrea Caturegli had already received recognition in their previous project The Stratford 4, which signed to JetSet for two records and later to Elektra. On JetSet their album “Love and Distortion” produced by Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie) was received well by both underground and mainstream press, earning them four stars in Rolling Stone. The last album, on Elektra and produced by Ric Ocasek, was unfortunately never released as the group disbanded amid stress and expected turmoil. After a short break they began a search for musicians of similar influence. Brandon Tomas freshly transplanted from Austin, by way of Los Angeles, responded to an ad with Adam Hain, also new to San Francisco. Both seasoned in several projects but working alone were interested by the listed influences, among them the seminal My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain and Sonic Youth. These common influences proved binding and immediate. Within a few months the group released their first self-titled EP in summer ’07, which foreshadows the their unique ability to blend influence with originality. While still busy completing material for their upcoming full length, the group has packed several shows with new fans eager for their sensible and multilayered sound, both reminiscent of well informed indie-pop and interesting in its intentional uniqueness. They define space-pop with a self-awareness and refreshing sense of irony, to entertain, rather than exclude listeners of all tastes.

Thank for selling it to us! It was exactly what Rob had been looking for. I'm glad you like the tunes. We should grab a drink some time. I really liked your CD too. Thanks for passing it along. We'll arrange something for this weekend to move the beast to our studio. Until then, enjoy the improving weather! Best, Erin
