The Low Tide Drifters are a folk band from Eugene, Oregon with deep roots in the cultural heritage of the Pacific Northwest. They combine a love of folk, blues, and country music with original lyrics to produce their unique sound. Whether singing about Lake County loggers, a waitress trying to make it out of a stunted coastal economy, or fishing towns turned tourist traps, they are doing something few other bands are doing today—writing music that paints a picture of everyday working people.
Performing regularly at quality events and venues in the Northwest, the Low Tide Drifters have shared the stage with diverse acts such as Eric John Kaiser, Wild Hog in the Woods, Jessica Stiles, Fast Rattler, Molasses, Back Porch Revival, and Charlotte Cornfield. As a socially conscious band, they have performed for union and community organizers, home healthcare workers, and social justice organizations. They have provided music at the 2008 and 2009 Springfield Human Rights Harvest and organized a benefit concert for the Lane County Friends of the Birth Center.
The Low Tide Drifters released their first E.P. “Progress and Porchlights” in 2009 The E.P. includes six of the band’s original songs. They have also released a single entitled “A Prayer for Josseline.” All proceeds for this single are donated to No More Death, a migrant rights organization in Tuscon, Arizona.
