Heroes
My heroes are all Civil Rights Activists, soldiers, and anyone that has the passion to make a difference in the lives of others. I SALUTE YOU! Above all, to the ONE who made this ALL possible, GOD! thats the REAL HERO who lies in you.
It is indeed a great honor to say I was born January 15th the same day as the late great Dr. Martin Luther King jr. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but due to life's obstacles my family and I migrated around locals of the United States. The streets raised me as a youth. Currently, I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Professional Counseling, set to graduate in December 2008.
As a survivor of child abuse and neglect, I use my personal experiences and professional knowledge to serve as a role model for youth. I remind them their potential does not have to be overshadowed by their circumstances. By sharing my story, I hope to help similarly disadvantaged or abused children see their obstacles can become hurdles.
I am a dedicated mental health and social service provider, and I use my personal and field experience to create powerful and vivid images in my publications. In the near future, I will continue my positive outreach efforts with children. Specifically, I aim to help children in the foster care system by opening a group home. I recognize the importance of structure, support, and protective factors in healthy development. My group home for youth will instill values to an often disregarded population.
My biggest accomplishment thus far is I had the opportunity to write two memoirs and am currently working on the third. Though being a writer was not one of my dreams as a child, life's trials and tribulations and having absolutely no one to talk too nor console me, pen and paper became my best friend.
Through life's journey, I discovered it is best to accept life for what it is, never take it for granted and stay REAL and LOYAL. Through my triology, Drowning in a Mother's womb, Potentially Ruined and I AM you will explore countless TRUE stories that remain untold do to fear or feeling unworthy of earth. I decided to make a difference in somebody else's life whom may be experiencing what I had to endure, and share my testimony with the world. I have this great determination to be all that I can be. That is why I am the AUTHOR and the PUBLISHER of my books to INSPIRE others that there is HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS!!! In addition I am also working on two street novels, all of which are coming SOON.
On a lighter note, I have a laid back persona with a zero tolerance for mess. I enjoy sports, I like to try new and adventurous things, I am creative,I like to design and decorate and above all I love comedy. I choose the word Loyal for my publising company because I feel that describes me as a whole. I choose to publish my books and pursue a publishing company first and foremost because I can do all things through christ who strengthens me. Second,I decided to publish my books adhering to my motto in life "SINK OR SWIM". That motto makes me feel I can go all the way.
Last but not least that extra push came from all of the negativie responses toward my dreams. "He that continues to strive to accomplish their goal is a WISE man, he that endulges in ignorance is a FOOL."
