About me:
This is the official Honors Student Organization of Lone Star College-North Harris. The operators of this site expect that all who request to be added as "friends" are currently attending Lone Star College-North Harris and are honest about their attendance.
Lone Star College-North Harris' Honors Program offers enrichment of course materials to highly motivated, academically capable students, giving them the freedom to work independently and collaboratively with faculty members and encourage lively, engaging discourse and activity outside the classroom.
Honors credit is earned through contracts in classes with a coordinator who is committed to an open-ended approach to learning. Honors credit can also be earned through various course sections. Students are encouraged to contribute extensively and creatively through small group interaction, seminars, laboratories, oral reports, special research projects, informal discussion, and both individual and group projects.
Honors Mission
The mission of the LSC-North Harris Honors Program is to enhance existing programs and to reaffirm the College's commitment to excellence by identifying, recruiting, and challenging motivated students, providing enrichment and flexibility to develop full student potential, and to offer faculty the opportunity for renewal and innovation.
How Do I become Eligible For Honors?
Any student can attempt an Honors contract with permission of the instructor in his or her regularly scheduled class. Applications may be found in A-264-D.
