My first hero on mandolin was Jackie Kincaid. My first idol was Jesse McReynolds. My other musical heroes are Ronnie McCoury, Doyle Lawson, Buddy Griffin, Paul Warren, Jim and Jesse, Reno and Smiley, Flatt and Scruggs, Everette Lilly, Dempsey Young, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Buck Owens and Don Rich, and last but CERTAINLY not least, David Davis!

Luke Shamblin is a 5th generation singer and musician hailing from the Charleston, WV area. Luke began playing fiddle after his inheritance of his grandfather Bob Summers' fiddle in 2002 at the age of 15. In 2003, Luke picked up the mandolin, which has become his mainstay playing in local groups, but also playing professionally for bluegrass music legend Melvin Goins, and also with DOVE Nominated Lizzy Long & Friends, and is now playing fiddle for Bluegrass Music Legend EVERETT LILLY and the LILLY MOUNTAINEERS. Luke's influences as a musician are Jesse McReynolds, Jackie Kincaid, Ronnie McCoury, Doyle Lawson, Benny Martin, Paul Warren, and Buddy Griffin.
Luke is now a Senior History and Political Science Major at Glenville State College where he also is minoring in Psychology and Bluegrass Music. He credits the GSC Bluegrass Program for his recent success in Bluegrass Music. Luke's first solo project, "Keeping the Tradition" is underway, and should be out towards the end of 2009
