About me:
PhotobucketHi! My name is Linda. I am a single American woman living for Y'shua Messiah in south India. I am also an ordained minister, but I do not pastor a church. My main ministry on the internet goes to several thousand subscribers in more than 75 countries. It was through that ministry that I came to know several indigenous Indian pastors and eventually came to India.

My calling is to encourage believers, counsel anyone struggling with sexual abuse, sexuality issues, or substance abuse addictions, and intercede in prayer for others. My secondary "ministry" is to try to give voice to small ministries with which I partner in India, Kenya, Pakistan, Philippines, Tanzania, and Zambia so that Westerners will come to know them and possibly support the Kingdom work they're doing with orphans, widows, and poor persons. I do this through a monthly online newsletter and by contributing small websites for them (both of which activities have been on hold since December 2007).

I love to tell people about the One who loves them with an outrageous and extravagant love, who will do whatever it takes to rescue them and fellowship with them, even if it means dying for them!

Passion of the Christ

If you'd like me to pray for you -- no matter the need -- please feel free to contact me.

I have one request if you decide to add me as a friend. Please don't send large images or multiple images through the Comments section. My internet connection here in India is very slow, and large/multiple images slow it down even more, with pages often timing out. Please understand, if you choose to ignore this simple request, I will delete what you send! Period.

Be blessed in Y'shua's name!
Linda

The reason I sing
is to praise the One who gave His life to be...
the reason I sing!

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who...
  • loves Jesus Christ and has received Him as their Savior and Lord; or
  • is struggling with an addiction (i.e., alcohol, drugs, cigarettes) and wants to talk to someone who understands; or
  • is trapped in the mire of homosexuality and needs to know there's a way out (not just "out of the closet"); or
  • is seeking to know the Truth; or
  • needs prayer for any reason.

Watch Your Step
By the time Jesus began His ministry in the early days of the First Century, the Pharisees, who were the religious elite of that time, had interpreted the Jewish law by adding many of their own rules. There were so many do’s and don’ts that religious life had become a burden to the Jewish people.

There are many in our religious communities, like the Pharisees of old, who have allowed the process of religion to overcome the purpose of Christ. Jesus referred to these people as the “blind leading the blind” and said they would “fall into a ditch.”

In all aspects of life, but especially in knowing the truth of God, it is our responsibility to sift through the clutter of religious practices that may be getting in the way of seeking a relationship with Christ.

After all, Jesus did not come to start a religion; He came to testify to the truth of God and offer a revolutionary new way of living out God’s plan.

Support for what’s weighing you down.

Lighten the Load
Jesus sends an invitation to all: "Come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest… For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Who among us is without burdens? From a delayed flight to a late mortgage payment, a term paper due on Friday or a seriously ill family member, all of us have times when we are disheartened and discouraged along our way, sometimes to the point of “spiritually bankruptcy.”

I know a unique word not found in the dictionary, "efforting." It means struggling unnecessarily in an effort to do something. It could be illustrated by pushing a car to your destination when it would be much easier to start the engine and drive it.
When I find myself "efforting," I think of Jesus’ invitation to let Him take the heavy part of the yoke, leaving me the lighter side. He does not necessarily say that He will carry all of my baggage. Yet, He does promise that when we accept His invitation, He will gladly lighten our load.

When Jesus said to His followers, “To enter the Kingdom of Heaven, you must come as little children”, I assumed He meant because of their innocence. Then, reflecting back on my time as a child and times I have watched my own or others playing, I could only conclude that “their innocence” was not the virtue to which Jesus was speaking.

Children were loved in the first century, but unlike children today, the world did not revolve around them – gifts for every occasion, birthday parties and trips to Disney World. Children were more humble, having fewer expectations than children today.

The Kingdom will be a gift to people who know they are not worthy of such a gift – “the poor in spirit” - the people who are not trying to impress others or position themselves where they will look good to the King. “Come as little children” means come to Him in humility, expecting nothing, knowing that grace and salvation come as His gift. A relationship with Christ is much more about the gift received than what we give up.

As a part of an assignment for a doctoral thesis, a college student spent a year with a group of Navajo Indians on a reservation in the Southwest. As he did his research he lived with one family, sleeping in their hut, eating their food, working with them, and generally living the life of a twentieth-century Indian. The old grandmother of the family spoke no English at all, yet a very close friendship formed between the two. They spent a great deal of time sharing a friendship that was meaningful to each, yet unexplainable to anyone else. In spite of the language difference, they shared the common language of love and understood each other. Over the months he learned a few phrases of Navajo, and she picked up a little of the English language. When it was time for him to return to the campus and write his thesis, the tribe held a going-away celebration. It was marked by sadness since the young man had become close to the whole village and all would miss him. As he prepared to get up into the pickup truck and leave, the old grandmother came to tell him good-bye. With tears streaming from her eyes, she placed her hands on either side of his face, looked directly into his eyes and said, “I like me best when I’m with you.” Isn’t that the way we feel in the presence of Jesus? He brings out the best in us. We learn to see ourselves as worthy and valuable when we are in His presence. The hurts, the cares, the disappointments of our lives are behind us when we look in His eyes and realize the depth of His love. Our self-esteem no longer depends on what we have done or failed to do; it depends only on the value that He places on us. To be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ is to generate in other people the Indian grandmother’s simple statement: “I like me best when I’m with you.”

Just stoppin’ by to say hi! I pray that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving praising the ONE who is worthy of all the thanks! GOD bless you!

GO with GOD,
Chrystal

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.
