Leonard Cohen, Damien Rice, John Mayer, Nick Drake, Beck, Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, U2, my morning jacket, and Pearl Jam
The poetry of Mina Loy, Tom Raworth, Leonard Cohen, Rimbaud, and definitely Reginald Shepherd. all detrimental influences. by that i mean, their writings are so perfect, it's hard to shake the shadows of such a cannon.
the scores of Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Finding Nemo, etc.) are gorgeous. Same can be said for much of Debussy's body of work (Check out "De l'aube a midi sur la mer").
the album that changed my life, you ask?
A: The Verve's Urban Hymns. Essential listening...absolutely imperative. it's a record for all of us who aim to write songs with the lone acoustic guitar yet hear the potential for so much more.
Thank you so much... My EP, A Moment to Break, is now available on iTunes and Amazon. You can also join my mailing list at www.jamielynnnoon.com-- I couldn't be more grateful for the love and support!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
