You are lucky to be here right now, because Lucianne has decided to post a new song from her thirty years in entertainment. One for each of the Twelve Days of Christmas. So many tunes, so little time! The tunes and video on this site span her lifetime in music, with her latest jazz at the top of the list. You’ve seen it before, but Lucianne Evans is a little different. Her reviews contain words like sultry, sensitive and captivating, but her favorite word is “honest.” And honestly, her last record, Evans & Coppola's FLAMINGO was awarded "Top Vocal CD's of 2002" in the Jazz Education Journal, of the International Association of Jazz Educators, side by side with some of the most famous names in jazz, as voted in by the legendary Dr. Herb Wong, a very interesting and beloved critic in the international jazz scene for decades. Lucianne is honest about her repertoire, her abilities, her stage details, and her new skill—Lucianne is pleased to launch her solo career accompanying herself on piano, and says that this skill informs her singing like never before.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Lucianne got her start as a vocalist in Montreal, Canada, appearing in the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Canadian TV and radio, and was named Best Vocalist in the "Lowenbrau Jazz Search." She also spent several years in New York where she won a BMI Songwriter's Workshop award for "Dear Lonely One." and recorded "Flowers in Winter" (on the night of the Clinton Inaugural Ball!). Asheville is where she calls home, and had a very successful group called Evans and Coppola, which is over. With the experience of a seasoned jazz vocalist she approaches hundred and hundreds of songs with a contrast between ease and daring.
She is a great songwriter, and by the way, does jingles. Her newest project is to make a regional commercial for her travel agency. at the moment it's called Jazz Music Travel www.jazzmusictravel.com, but will soon be Roamsicle Travel.
