If you take two parts Red Hot Chili Peppers, one part Maroon 5, one/half parts will smith and one/half parts Beethoven; this is what you'd have: a dynamic mix of rock/rhythm and funk that is pure musical genius. He is a singer, rapper, song-writer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. What does he play? Well, he plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, percussion and drum programming. He also played classical trumpet and tuba as a youth. His high school concert band at Salem H.S. in Va Beach,Va, went to the state championship and came back with the top prize. The marching band, that he was also a member of, placed high in their competitions as well. LI was also the lead rapper of a teenage rap group that did a show with the Leaders Of The New School (Busta Rhymes' old group before he went solo) @ NSU way back in 1991. But that is ancient history - this is now and the future is his! Check out "Life's A Beach" - a cool acoustic-guitar inflected tune soon to be a summer classic. This rock and rap song is about growing-up and the fun times of the summer, with a few lines about Va Beach from a local's perspective. Even though no local major label producers and/or music publishing company owners seem to care about putting any cool mentionings out on the airwaves - this Sun King is different! You might think that it's a Justin Timberlake or TLC song when you hear it because of the funky and melodic production and smooth vocals, but "Do For Yourself" is another tight cut from LI.
