Kameliun- The voice of the duo, in more ways than one. He rocks the mic with intensity when he's emceeing, he belts out beautifully harmonized ballads and hooks, he promotes the group, doing most of the connecting and radio interviews, and he is never soft spoken. His lyrics voice his views with amazing imagery and impact. His songwriting has stepped up considerably on the upcoming album, and he only shows signs of getting even better. Filthy Rich- The Renaissance man. Homeboy does it all. From the dope ass lyrics and smooth flow, down to the studio editing and mastering. He writes a lot of the songs, and does most of the studio work. The kid hardly ever leaves the studio, and when he does, it's usually to do some other type of audio/music related activities. He is the cat responsible for bringing together the Amalgamate Culture family, and is constantly on the look out for new artists to work with and new opportunities to take advantage of.
Influences
A.I.M. is influenced by everything hiphop...and pretty much everything music, period. Artists range from hip hop greats: 2Pac, JayZ, Biggie, Nas, Dre, Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Camron, Jadakiss, Wu Tang, DPG, Outkast, MF Doom, Little Brother, etc; to music legends such as: Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, etc. Not to mention artists like: Morcheeba, Manu Chao, Weezer, Modest Mouse, Kongo Wile, Steel Pulse, and theres no way to list them all. Most importantly though, we are influenced by life, the world, our friends and family and each other.
A Hip Hop group in the unlikeliest of places. A.I.M. was created deep in the Arctic Circle, in the town of Barrow, Alaska. Two aspiring artists (Kameliun & Filthy Rich) came together just to collaborate on a couple of songs, but soon were working together on everything they did. Each member of the duo bringing his own arsenal of weaponry, to create a unique sound in a game that has been cluttered with copy cats and clones. Their original and diverse style allies them with many other artists tied to an ongoing movement that has set out to diversify hip hop. Their subject matters deal with all aspects of life, from social issues to relationships to partying and bullshit. Their songs range from club bangers to conscious music. They have one underground classic CD out called Target The Game. It's a dope album, and the duo is currently in the process of topping this album with their next one, which is unnamed at this time. The group also worked with other Alaskan hip hop artists (Trip H, Blood Family, 321, Bugzy, Robby V, Se7eN, The Fugitivez, AP, QMill, Black and more) to put together a compilation mixtape: Amalgamate Culture Mixtape Vol. 1. Filthy Rich also has two underground solo albums out, titled Amalgamate Culture: Do You Here Me Now? and Poetic Revolution. A.I.M. had their first performance at the first ever annual North Slope Rap and Slam Poetry Summit. They just recently had a performance in Barrow on December 16th for a record release party for Amalgamate Culture's first Mixtape. They performed with other Barrow artists, including Robbie V, Bugzy, The Fugitivez and Se7eN. They also are in the process of planning a performance at Club AT in Anchorage, which may be sometime this Spring. Most of their original beats are produced by G-Casso and they have just started working with a new producer: RobRhythm, who will take credit for most of the production for their upcoming album.
