MySpace a place for friends

Hello and a warm welcome to this brand new myspace. For the last ten years or so I have been working exclusively as a singer songwriter with the band BLISS; see www.blissfulmusic.com But this space marks a new phase of my journey as im branching out and starting a solo career.

BLISS was an amazing experience and it produced a body of work I am immensely proud of. I suppose we were best known for the song A Hundred Thousand Angels and I never tire of singing that song live.

Before Bliss I had an incredible break when I co-wrote a no 1 hit for Toni Di Bart. Some of the oldies amongst you might remember it on the dance floors of 1994…."The Real Thing". If you liked that tune, keep your ears peeled because I have some insider info that a new mix is about to be released. When it’s ready I’ll let you know.

Here I will be sharing news of gigs, workshops and new products as well as discussing some issues I find interesting.

BRAND NEW RELEASE

The first news is that I have a brand new album coming out in about two weeks time.. It’s called "Both Sides" and it’s a collection some of my favourite songs. Someone did say to me that artists make cover albums when they have nothing new to say. This was certainly not the case with. me.

After a year when my relationship broke, I moved from the home and the community I loved and my direction in life was challenged on every level. I had so much to say, but I could not find the words to say it. That has taken time and a period of healing. My decision to make an album of my favourite songs came in response to many fans asking me to record some of the covers I sang in my live shows. I also just wanted to really enjoy the process of recording some fabulous songs, from Leonard Cohen’s Song of "Bernadette" to Stings "Fields of Gold" and Stevie Wonder’s "Overjoyed". I have tried to add my own flavour, but the main aim was to enjoy the art of singing and telling the story…..and I did. I rediscovered myself as a singer!

I hope you all enjoy the teaser tracks we’ve put here. We’ll let you know as soon as the album is available for sale.
