Il a également participé en tant que percussionniste à plusieurs créations contemporaines, notamment avec Ahmed Essyad, Georges Aperghis, et Michel Reverdy.
Il fait en parallèle des études de percussion classiques et de jazz au Conservatoire de Strasbourg (1988-1994), puis étudie avec Daniel Humair dans la classe de jazz du CNSM de Paris (1994-1998) sous la direction de François Jeanneau, avec Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Hervé Sellin et François Théberge.
Il a obtenu un 1er Prix de soliste au concours de Jazz d'Avignon, ainsi qu'un premier prix de Jazz au CNSM de Paris.
Premier prix au concours de La Défense avec Philippe Lemoine KASSALIT SEPTET (Philippe Lemoine, Médéric Collignon, Yvan Avice, Frédéric Norel, Benjamin Moussay, Arnault Cuisinier)
Pédagogue, il enseigne la batterie jazz au Conservatoire de Strasbourg.
