Hi there! My name’s Lucky and I’m the leprechaun mascot for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation – an organization that raises awareness and funds for childhood cancer research - and they do it through head shaving events!
Yeah, you heard me right! Volunteer "shavees" solicit financial support from family and friends and in return, shave their heads bald in solidarity with kids with cancer. As the St. Baldrick's Mascot, I have become friends with a heroic bunch of volunteer event organizers (VEOs), shavees (over 100,000 shavees to be exact), barbers, donors and volunteers! I’ve seen head-shaving events in 24 countries and have watched dedicated volunteers raise over $67 million (US dollars) for childhood cancer research!*
All of my pics represent the various groups of supportive volunteers that have helped the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in Shaving the Way to Conquer Kids’ Cancer! It’s thanks to these friends that I’ve learned how to play over a dozen types of sports and have learned lots of fun hobbies. Check out my pics to see me in action!
If you want to use a larger, higher quality version of one of my photos for promoting your event or when soliciting donations, please send all requests to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation at Media@StBaldricks.org
