If Katy Perry and Billie Joe Armstrong had a Suicide Boy lovechild, it would be 24 year old singer/songwriter, Lucky Valentine. Born in Sydney, Australia, Valentine was curiously raised on Nintendo and Fruit Roll-Ups alone. Tired of a life of “picked last in gym class”, he has since spent his life traveling the globe in search of “home”. A few punk bands and dead-end jobs later, Valentine landed himself a short babysitting stint with multi-instrumental producer, Ben Rosen (Marilyn Manson, Unwritten Law, 8mm, Grinspoon) and their lives were forever changed.
Somewhere between Italy and Japan, Valentine began back and forth discussions with now long-time friend, Rosen, where they decided to embark on a provocative musical journey together – creating an album which sounds like no other.
Two years later the team emerged with “King Of The Kerb”; 12 tracks of everything from street anthems, to contagious anti-love rants, to blush-worthy coming-of-age eargasms. Infectiously filthy beats coated with vocals smoother than Valentine's pick-up lines, the album draws inspirations from everything from Rock to Rap, to Punk to Funk.
“So if you’re broke, bum a smoke, grab a glass of wine… and kick it with Valentine”. Who knows? You might get Lucky.
