Lucretia*Renee is a life-long artist achieving a BFA and numerous Honor Awards from Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, in 1997. Gallery shows followed in 1997-99. She later transferred her passion to Tribal Fusion Bellydance, firedance, butoh, modern dance, and costume design. DJ Cheb i Sabbah, Societas Insomnia, Jill tracy, Paul Mercer, March Fourth Marching Band, The Red King, Lance Grider Music, Lorraine Hanson, and Ariellah are just a few examples of various dance troupes, bands, theatrical productions, and solo artists she has recently collaborated with. LucretiaRenee coordinates events such as East:Meets:West- an annual event featuring underground bellydance and modern dance troupes and Conflux NW Dark Arts Festival, Portland, OR. Lucretia*Renees unique aesthetic and dance style is derived from an eclectic yet dark blend of modern and ancient influences from around the world. Her current dance project, Serpentine, is a direct result of her desire to further explore creative ideas in theatical fire fusion bellydance productions. Serpentine is a dark tribal/butoh fusion bellydance duet founded in 2005 by Aradia and Lucretia*Renee. Presently, Aradia and Lucretia*Renee are co-founders, co-designers, co-choreographers of Serpentine; together they merge their passions of art and dark tribal belly dance in a unique exploration of self-expression and goddess devotion. Serpentine explores the ancient art of storytelling through spectacle and ritual; each performance is a living vivid painting. Along with writing unique choreography, each artist creates their own costumes, stage props, and fire dancing tools. From spring until fall of 2008, Serpentine welcomed Nagasita for the triple goddess rites unfolding with divine synchronicity.
In 2009, the rites of Serpentine open into a new aeon. As a transformative duet, Aradia & Lucretia*Renee explore the beauty and mysterious rituals of butoh: reinventing to birth the serpent mythos.
One of Serpentines missions from conception is to collaborate with different musicians, dancers, and artists. Through the creative expression and ritual honoring we become stronger supporting each others visions and pushing the envelope to create even the unimaginable… Serpentine has performed with talented artists/ musicians such as Cheb i Sabbah, Soriah, Azphodel, Jill Tracy, Paul Mercer, March Fourth, and many, many more.
We are joining creative forces with FAITH AND THE MUSE this fall, tour dates will be released very soon.
Serpentine also coordinates East Meets West, a community celebration of dark fusion belly dance. As the goddess is honored through ecstatic dance, our communities grow stronger. As we consecrate our bodies and the land on which we dance, we unite. Each year this event grows and attracts like-minded dancers and performers from across the states.

Renee Rathmann is Lucretia*Renee, founder of DARK FUSION BOUTIQUE and cofounder of SERPENTINE Fire Fusion Bellydance Troupe, Portland, Oregon. Her artistic career officially began in 1998 with gallery shows at the prestigious Quartersaw Gallery which was located in the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. After years of oil painting, attaining a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art, her attention was drawn to performance. She taught herself the art of firedance and performed regularly at various Portland venues from 2001-2004. To enhance her dance even further, she began Neo Tribal bellydance classes taught by Jane Archer and later began performing as Serpentine. Inspired by theatrical performances, she began designing costumes for her personal use in Serpentine, for dance stores, and friends. Her style is a delicate fusion of Tribal Bellydance, Goth, Burningman, Circus, Burlesque, Vaudville, and even Punk. Lucretia*Renee puts a feminine twist on the typical fetish aesthetic, inspired by the art of dance and the Goddess.
