24-year old guitarist and singer-songwriter Lucy Chapin grew up listening to Wynton Marsalis, Tito Puente, Peter Rowan, and Bela Fleck perform at her father’s nightclub. At the age of 14, Lucy began singing in the bars of Hartford, CT with acclaimed guitarist Burt Teague and drummer Rob Fried of Max Creek fame. She is equally at ease playing with sidewalk bluesmen in New Orleans, at bluegrass joints in Nashville, or in front of thousands at jamband festivals. Lucy has shared the stage and performed with G. Love and Special Sauce, Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, Government Mule, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Regina Spektor, the Jazz Mandolin Project, Assembly of Dust, Gordon Stone (Mike Gordon, Phish), Bob Coons and Marty Holland (Jerry Garcia Band), and most recently, Paul Simon. Performances have been sparse over the past three years as Lucy has been studying in Nepal, exploring the jook-joints of the Mississippi Delta, and living in Cape Town, South Africa. Currently, Lucy is writing music and preparing for her third CD in Brooklyn, NY. Keep an eye out for dates in NYC!
