    I love to read, just almost as much as I love to write and I have tons of autobuy authors. I adore my family and spend lots of time with them, including my extended family. But my favorite nonwriting activity is to travel, particularly with my dh and our teens.

    I like all sorts of music. It's a huge source of inspiration and help with focus for my writing as well. My I-Pod holds 8 GBs and I have to switch out music regularly because it can't hold everything. LOL

  • Filmler

    I just watched The Rock and loved it. It's not a new movie, but still relevant. I really enjoyed Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom. Stellar! In the same genre, I adore Shelter and All Over the Guy (replaced French Kiss as my all time favorite romantic comedy). I will unashamedly admit I thoroughly enjoyed High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Monsters vs. Aliens was a riot. Seven Pounds absolutely heartbreaking and well done. Will Smith is *so* talented. Quantum of Solace changed my mind about James Bond films (in a good way [g]). The Express made me cry, but it was SO good. I really like movies with dance, or sports movies, some action adventure and some romance (but only if it's done right - I'm picky, being a romance author).

    I love NCIS, Numbers, Burn Notice, Eureka, Closer, Leverage and White Collar. Thank goodness they have alternating season schedules and I only watch TV when those shows have new episodes, otherwise how would I get my writing done? LOL I watched both seasons of Noah's Arc and I have all of Stargate: SG1 on DVD (including the movies) as well as all the Poirot mysteries done by BBC. Along with Nero Wolf, they are my favorite re-watch. :) I used to watch home decorating shows and sometimes they'll still pull me in, but mostly I'd rather read than watch TV. :)

The official Lucy Monroe "short" bio is below, but I wanted a chance to say, "Hey." Thanks so much for stopping by my page. I love connecting with my readers and people who share my interests. I spend a lot more time writing than I do kibitzing, so the chance to do a little of that here is uber welcome. I create extraordinary people for my books, but I'm a pretty regular gal. I live with my gorgeous hubby of 21 years and two of our three children. (Both are teens and both will graduate high school this year.) In addition to these lovely people, I play mom to a long-term exchange student from Korea (he has been with us 3 years and graduates high school this year too), and two more teen boys (one of whom got his GED and the other who will also graduate high school this year - can you say BIG party???) - all of whom live with us. My eldest daughter and her husband live near and I'm blessed to get to see them and my first grandbaby several times a week. (Yes, I really do appreciate just how blessed I am by that.)

My husband is an environmentalist at Intel. He's so green I get grass stains sleeping with him, but I don't mind. In fact, I think it's pretty neat. Just like he thinks it's cool that I'm a budding gay rights activist. (To effect lasting change, we *all* have to take an interest in civil rights.) I love my job and believe in the romance genre and the power fiction has to change lives and attitudes. I'm starting a new non-profit targeted at encouraging us all to love without boundaries. (Watch this space for more info as the website goes live.) Do you know how many children are bullied in school and what impact that has on our suicide statistics? We can change that by funding anti-bullying programs in schools that don't have them. We can support media and legislation that discourages bigotry and prejudice of any kind. We can make a difference, one person at a time. I want to be one of those people.

Like I said, pretty average gal. My mom and my sisters are some of my best friends. I'm super grateful for the other friends God has brought into my life and for the love and acceptance I've found in the romance community. I may not be one of my heroines, but I feel that I have a pretty extraordinary life because of the people in it!
