“Uno sguardo al tempo che fu …”
Intorno all’ormai lontanissimo secolo XIII° nelle terre intorno a Firenze dei Guelfi e Ghibellini, si viveva semplicemente, anche se tra povertà, pestilenze e malumori di ogni sorta che sfociavano in continue lotte tra fazioni avverse.
Ovviamente questo riguardava la gente comune, il popolo; poiché invece i vari signorotti sparsi qua e là dalle piane ai monti delle varie signorie di area fiorentina, vivevano nell’agio.
Ognuno di questi signorotti era sovrano entro i propri confini; e non mancando a quell’epoca la bellicosa tendenza alla supremazia sui vicinanti, si scatenavano spesso tenzoni cruente anche all’interno di una stessa realtà geografica.
Le zone del Mugello e dell’Alta Val di Sieve non facevano eccezione; fino a che per dar modo al popolo di pensare meno ai problemi giornalieri, anche se metaforicamente e per un sol giorno si pensò di sfruttare la faziosità a scopo liberatorio e rigenerante, istituendo dei giochi per tutti e che per i quali, tutti si preparavano durante il corso dell’anno.
Oggi abbiamo voluto riprendere questa antica usanza al fine di ritrovare la gioia ludica dei protagonisti di allora…

“A glance at the time that was….” Around the far away XIII century, in the lands surrounding the divided Florence between Guelfe and Gibelinic, life was simply a struggle against poverty, pestilence and famine. This of course regarded the common people: the populace. Instead the various big and small Lords, spread among the vallates and the mountains of the Florentine areas, were all living in the most comfortable way. But with a belligerent tendency to the supremacy and the conquest of the neighbouring lands. Often, thanks to the thirst of power of the Lords, very violent fights sprang among the valleys and bloodshed washed the country. The “Mugello” and the “Alta Val di Sieve” were not exceptions, until when, in order to divert people from the ordinary problems and mitigate its belligerent behaviour, games and competitions were founded. Although only for a day the anger and the brute force were routed to recreational purposes. But all year long everyone was preparing and training for that day. Today we want to resume this old tradition in order to rediscover the feelings and the joy of those people that were engaged in these games and competitions in the ancient times…. So we want to give new life to the “Palio della Brocca dell’Alleanza”.
Siamo una associazione culturale senza scopo di lucro, costituitasi nell’anno 2004, ma che già in precedenza e da diversi anni ha svolto attività inerenti al Medio Evo o quant’altro a esso collegato.
L’associazione ha sede in Londa (Firenze), Via Roma n.65, nei locali della Biblioteca Comunale e ha per scopo la promozione la valorizzazione e la diffusione della cultura
e dell’arte Medievale nella Val di Sieve e nel Mugello.
In particolare si prefigge di:
Patrocinare ed incoraggiare studi storici di usi e costumi locali;
Organizzare convegni di studio su tematiche storiche e culturali;
Sensibilizzare sul tema gli Enti locali;
Riscoprire ed organizzare ,anche in collaborazione con Enti pubblici e privati
giochi,tornei,sfilate,manifestazioni ed altre pratiche medioevali tra cui ad esempio:
“Il Palio della Brocca dell’Alleanza”, ove si disputano tra le altre gare “Il Lancio delle Crociere” e il “Torneo tiro alla fune”............................................................................................................................................................................
We are a no profit cultural assosiation, founded in the 2004, and based on an previous experience of several years of activities concerning the recollection of “the middle ages”. The assosiation is based in the village of Londa (near Florece), Via Roma n.65, on the premises of the local Public Library and has the aim of promotion, valorisation and diffusion of the local (Val di Sieve and Mugello areas) “Middle Age” culture. In particular it has the purpose of: supporting and encouraging storical studies on the local customs; organizing conferences on storical and cultural themes; involving on this themes the local authorities; rediscovering and organizing games, tournaments, parades, shows and other activities recoletting the medieval age, with the collaboration of local authorities and private sector. As an example, among the activities in which we are involved, there is: “Il Palio della Brocca dell’Alleanza” (the competition for the jug of the alliance) where competitions involving precision, like “the trowing of darts”, or brute force, like the “tug of war”, are performed.

Hey, ciao Friends!!!!! Come va da quelle parti? Tutto bene? Il weekend e' andato per il giusto verso? Qui sotto l'appennino tutto bene... il cielo e pieno di nuvole, l'aria e' carica di pioggia.... una domanda nasce spontanea: ma siamo in estate o in autunno? Ormai anke le stagioni sono miskiate!!!!
