You tell me and btw if you like my songs, please rate them for me and help them get more coverage, thanks heaps.
Originally from Holland, living in New Zealand and just returned from Florida and Jamaica in May 07 having met some great musicians and really enjoyed meeting and playing with some great muso's in both countries.
I am a songwriter and I would be delighted if you want to perform my music. If you do, please let me know when and where and acknowledge me as the songwriter, thanks:-)
I started off playing in folk clubs at the age of 9, had my first band at school when I was 11. Played in a couple of bands around New Zealand doing covers (with a bit of blues thrown in when I could get away with it), but most of my music has been solo at folk clubs, open mic's, cafe's etc. At various times I've lived in Auckland, Christchurch, Motueka and Nelson, plus a couple of years in Holland.
Then I started a family and chose home life and quality family time.
My real bent has been songwriting rather than performing and I was able to continue this, but didn't take advantage of any opportunities to perform. I was surprised a couple of times to hear people say "I know that song" and not believing that I had written it. That's what I want to hear more of, the first part that is.
My ambition is one day to become a full time professional songwriter and I'm hoping that if you like the music I have posted here, you will let me know and hopefully let other people know. If you decide to perform any of my songs, please do me the courtesy of telling me and let people know who wrote it:-)
I'm keeping a blog of my progress as a songwriter on MySpace. Maybe it will help other people learn from my successes and mistakes. If you have any tips, share them with me.
A Natural Progression has been signed with Sydney Skyler Music, so if you would like to perform that song, you need to get in touch with me for an introduction.
I have a podcast called A Kiwi Songwriter which you can subscribe to through iTunes or at http:luigicappel.libsyn.com and if you would like to hear more of my music, check out my Music Forte site at www.musicforte.com/member/bluesbro.
If you like my music, please add me and leave me a comment, or even get in touch.
I live in Auckland, but travel around NZ quite a bit.
I hope you like my recent songs, Another Stretch In Iraq and You Oughta Run. I spent a lot of time researching it and it is dedicated to the men and women serving to help make the world a safer place for us all. I'm looking for photos for a slide show video. Any photos of friends, family or the people serving will be gratefully accepted and of course if you contribute photos I will send you a copy to keep for free.
You Oughta Run includes some awesome sax from my friend Charly Nice in Germany. It's about a guy working on the road who gets a txt saying that there is another man in his bed. He heads home with a bourbon in one hand and a gun in the other and he's looking for trouble. To find out more you have to listen to the song:)
Ciao Luigi cosmopolite musician man. My favourite song is which the sax (you oughta run). You have beautiful voice. Thanks for the add. Amitiés. Cynthia (France)
