Sergio Brida “Frank” as he is known in the neighborhood, has been the proprietor of Luigi’s Pizza since 1963. Many have tried a slice of pie from "competitors", but none have compared. We find that Sacramento pizza to be, for the most part, disappointing. If you know Luigi's Pizza, you know that we do not label ourselves as "New York" style or any other style. We are what we are...plain and simple...Luigi's Slice! We won't go into the breakdown of why most pizza generally sucks...for now we'll say the following: A New York Times critic once observed that American pizza had become, in recent years, "a vehicle for the topping". We completely and totally agree. Enjoy your bbq chicken or your - gasp - baked ziti slice, but DON'T even THINK about calling it pizza. Since 1953, our family recipes are passed down from our kitchen to your table. Since August 2007 Sergio's son Greg and wife Linda, along with partners David and Stan, are pleased to bring Luigi's Slice to Midtown Sacramento. In 2008 Greg and Linda Brida decided that like the original Luigi's on Stockton Blvd, Luigi's Slice also needed it's own "Fungarden".
