Born in Campinas, SP - Brazil, I was first introduced to the violin at the age of 8, and followed studying until 13. After this, I gave a break to the violin until I was 17 (in 1997). This was a remarkable year for me, since it was when I started to play violin again, and I went to the first music festival in my life. In 1998, I begun to take lessons with Frederico Barreto, who convinced me to keep playing the violin, and also prepared me to enter in the UNICAMP (Campinas state University), what finally happened in 1999. I started to take violin lessons with Esdras Rodrigues at the university, who motivated me to study both classical and jazz (popular) violin. in 2002 I started a double major in classical and popular violin, which I concluded in december 2004. At the beginning of the same year(2004), I started to take lessons with violinist Igor Sarudiansky. In 2005 I was awarded an assistantship and scholarship to study classical Violin at The University of Southern Mississippi. At USM I took violin lessons with Alejandro Drago and Dr. Stephen Redfield, and also master classes with Carmelo de los Santos, Alexander Brussilovsky, Julia Bushkova, and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. In the fall/2006 I started to take improv. lessons with Mr. Larry Panella, director of Jazz studies at USM. In the spring/2007 I started to work as teacher assistant for Dr. Marcos Machado, teaching improvisation for strings. Also in 2007 I started to teach improv. and coaching jazz combos as Mr. Panella's assistant. In January 2008, I was selected one of the top contestants at the 2008 "My Grammy Moment" contest. I had the opportunity to play live at the 2008 Grammy Awards with the Foo Fighters, where legendary Led Zeppelin's bassist John Paul Jones did an original arrangement for the FF's song "The Pretender". JPJ also rehearsed and conducted the ensemble. I just got my Master's degree in violin performance, and I was granted a full assistantship and scholarship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (where I'll be studying for the next years.)
