Bio
Delouse Hernandes was born in Portugal in 1959. In 1967 he immigrated with his parents to the Netherlands. Luis Delouse descends from a musical family. His mother Maria de Lourdes Hernandes was a Fado singer whom Luis composed many songs with. His brother Jose Hernandes is also a singer and started a band called Apollo 5 which is well known amongst the Portuguese who live in the Netherlands. Luis has also collaborated with his brother on many songs such as Secret Life which was released as a single by the band Zagala. Luis has also left behind his own sound amongst the Capverdians with songs such as Amor mi Ku Bo/Minha Preta sung by Americo Brito. Luis' first teacher was Joop Walvis, a skilled Hammond organist.Luis started out as organist and ended up in SKVR music school where he was thought piano by his favorite teacher Amilcar Vasques who coincidentally is a compatriot, who later sent him to the conservatory. Afterwards he became a professional pianist playing with the orchestra Funny Face assisting other artists such as Lee Towers, Donna Lynton, Ben Cramer and many more. In 2005, he gained a Certificate at the SAE institute (Electronic Music Production). His style is very much influenced by Latin jazz but he also loves good commercial music from his idols as Santana, Bob James, Roberto Carlos, Bob Marley, Dave Grusin, David Benoit and Stevie Wonder. He finds that music must be played with your heart, and that you own sound must be present. Presently I occupy my days with composing in my home studio.
